I love love love my new washer. It is a no frills machine with just enough cycle options to meet my needs. I don't have to wait for the machine to measure the load and add water - it just fills and washes. I can choose how much water to add for every load. It's so nice to have a washing machine that doesn't get out of balance. My laundry is done in half the time and my clothes are cleaner. This washer has eliminated the stress of laundry day because I know I don't have to hassle with it - it will do what it was designed to do. This is the only brand of washer I will ever own!!!
This TR5003WN is a replacement for our like sized circa 1984 Kenmore which broke down after all these years of reliable service. The TR5003WN was recommended to us by several sales associates in stores in our area that specialize in appliances (not the big box stores). Speed Queen's reputation and warrantee were the overall contributing factors with our decision. The TR5003WN is quieter, more water efficient and gets our clothes clean. We are a 2 person adult household and may do 2 to 3 loads per week. We don't get terribly dirty but my wife enjoys gardening whilst I enjoy maintaining our classic American cars.
Our old Kitchenaid washer gave us many years of service but finally needed replacing. Our local dealer made a strong recommendation for Speed Queen because of build quality and a reputation for reliability. We liked the classic good looks and traditional controls. What a difference this new machine is though. It runs so quietly compared to our old one...even during spin cycles. Most of the time it doesn't even sound like a washer. We like the auto fill cycle option, just set and let the machine determine how much water it needs. Gets clothes clean. Very happy with our purchase.
The machine itself is a good machine, however it arrived to us badly damaged. We called and required assistance from the actual company because it also would not start. Once we were able to get things worked out, it runs and the washing machine is definitely our favorite that we have had!
I was very excited to get my speed queen as I wanted something very simple that would get the job done. We have the machine approx. two months and within that time, we had two incidents where the door did not unlock after the load was complete, leaving our wash in the tub until a service man was able to come and fix it. Additionally, if you don't hit the start button just right, it creates a whole other issue....very frustrating for a quality product.
Worst washer ever! It never has worked correctly. It would gets stuck on different cycles. I would unplug it and start the washer over and over again. Some load would get washed three and four times before it would go through the cycles. Had a repair man come twice and on the last visit replaced the pump. It still does not work right. Buyers beware this is not a good purchase.
I would give it 0 stars if that were an option. The washer has electrical problems. We have to unplug and replug the washer into the wall outlet each time we want to do a load. Otherwise the washer will not recognize any inputs. The washer also randomly turns on while plugged in with no laundry inside. Even after unplugging and replugging, the you have to push the button a few times before it will work. Tried repeatedly to get them to come do warranty work on the unit but it is almost impossible to get ahold of anyone and when you do they do nothing and won't come fix anything. We are still trying but we have been trying to get it fixed since we bought it 6 months ago. Basically their warrany is worthless.
I purchased a Speed Queen washer on the recommendation of several sales people. The installer left me with the machine running and said I could wash when the cycle ended. When I went to use the washer blue lights were flashing and there was water in the machine. I contacted the store and a service person was sent out . The repair person said the wires to make the water drain out were not connected. This was a manufacturing oversight. Now I'm wondering what else was over- looked in the manufacturing process. So much for quality control !!!!!
I've debated for 2 months on whether to place my review but realized Speed Queen cannot improve their product if I don't share my experience. I'm extremely proud to purchase an American-made product but I'm disappointed... First, I noticed there is not a separate 'rinse' cycle. I learned this when the fabric softener didn't spray out completely during the cycle and was running down the agitator onto the clean clothes. I had to completely wash them again. Second, the agitator paddles/wings aren't large enough to move or agitate the clothes, especially my husband's jeans. I have to wash EVERY load of jeans (and often shirts) twice to get them clean. I wish the agitator were more like the older spiraled agitators or had more aggressive paddles to push the clothes around in the water removing dirt. I've had to wash smaller loads (4-5 pair) to try to get them clean but the jeans aren't clean after two wash cycles because you can still see dirt in the knees or legs of the jeans but I refuse to wash them a third time. Third, I have to wash EVERY load on 'heavy soil', 'autofill/extra rinse' and 'heavy duty' but...still two cycles for every load. The disappointing function of this washing machine causes me to use more electric, detergent, time and money and frustrates me every time I think about doing laundry. Hope there are improvements on the horizon for this machine.
I am VERY disappointed in my washer. The first day I used it, it stopped mid cycle. I contacted the store I purchased it at, and received a call from a technician and was told to unplug it for a minute, then plug it in and put it on the spin cycle, to reboot the computer. That did not solve the problem. It continued to happen every 3rd to 4th wash. I contacted the vendor 3 times and was told on the first 2 times that a rep from Speed Queen would contact me and that didn't happen. On the 3rd call, they contacted a local appliance repair person, and I never received a call. On the 4th call to the owner of the appliance store, I was finally given a date for a service call. The repair man came and told us he wasn't sure what it is, so he will contact Speed queen to see what the issue is. That was a week ago, and I am waiting for a call from the appliance repair company. I purchased a Speed Queen because I was under the impression that it was the BEST washer to buy, but I have NEVER purchased anything that has malfunctioned the first day using it.
