Trademark Global Deluxe Wooden 3-in-1 Chess, Backgammon & Checker Set

We purchased for our son as he is very much into chess and wanted a better board. The board itself is very nice and also serves as a carrying case for the chess/checkers/backgammon pieces. When closed, the board/case is secured with two small, circular magnets on each side. There is also a carrying handle constructed such that, when folded, each side comes together to form the handle. This means that when you are carrying the set, there is little chance of it coming open and spilling the contents. The chess pieces have a felt pad on the bottom to help keep the board from becoming marred. My son is very pleased with this set and has used it several times since receiving on Christmas.

This was a Christmas gift for our family. Nice set for the money. Very sturdy and have played on it numerous times already. I gave it five stars, however, I thought the instructions could have been written better...more user friendly. But you can easily get instructions off the internet, so no big deal to me.

This purchase was a gift for a 10yr old who already plays chess. I've been trying to teach him to play backgammon. This gift was an enthusiastically appreciated surprise.

Solid enough. I was not at all disappointed with the game when we opened the box. There were no bags for the pieces...too bad. The details in the pieces are not great, but this is a basic game at a reasonable price - fair enough. Hopefully, the hinges will not be an issue but it is too soon to tell.

My 10 years God Child was thrilled to have gotten this Deluxe Set for Christmas. Lately all set are in paper or lightweight platic. It arrived on-time with no damages.

This is a quality game - it has Backgammon, Chess, and Checkers. Our son-in-law just learned how to play Backgammon from us and LOVED it, so my daughter thought maybe we should get him a quality set for Christmas. I thought with three small children, he might want to also teach them how to play Checkers, so I purchased this three-in-one game. The only negative is that the chips are not as quality as I would have liked; otherwise, it is great and closes up and can be carried around with all of the chips, dice, and chessmen inside.

Bought for my husband. Love the game and the quality is nice but it came in a cardboard box, not the game box as pictured. For the price I would have expected the nicer game box over a cardboard box for storing purposes. Will probably return and get one elsewhere for that reason.

Quality not the best, many chess pieces missing padded stickers on the bottom, others glued extremely crooked. Set arrived without the original box, in a clear plastic bag, NOT as it shown in the picture. Color is also not as shown in the pictures, black pieces are actually very light brown instead.

This Deluxe Wooden 3-in-1 Chess, Checker and Backgammon set seemed like such a nice initial find that after considering many others, I really felt lucky to have found such a cool present for my daughter's 13th birthday. Upon opening the box it was shipped in, I was surprised to discover that there wasn't packaging of any sort, no wrapper, not even a clear plastic wrap. Okay, not a deal breaker, it was just odd and threw me off. This set also does not come with instructions at all, which would have been really nice, especially since neither one of us had a clue how to play backgammon. The board is a whole lot bigger than I anticipated, and the chess pieces are big as well. They have cloth padding on the bottom of them, which is a really nice touch. It is impressive, and the checker pieces are also very nice, with a polished smooth wooden look and feel. Definitely gives the impression of a higher quality product. The entire chess board is on the outside, as pictured, with the backgammon board on the inside. This also doubles as storage for all of the game pieces, which fit snugly. I was worried that they would fall all around and be 'rattly', but they fit perfectly inside. The board opens and closes smoothly, securely closing with small round magnets, which are nicely inset in the wooden frame. None of the pieces fall out, even when I tested it out, and it really is a nice design. However, anyone considering purchasing this set should be aware that the construction is very poor. We have played chess and checkers twice on this set and I just noticed that the game board is already separating from the frame it is set it. We aren't rough at all, and it hasn't fallen or anything, it just seems that the tiny nails holding it in aren't long enough to really secure the board in place. Returning it is a huge disappointment, but for the price I feel that it really should have been made with more deliberately secure intentions.

This item folds in half and has hinges attached with screws. Within 15 minutes of opening it, the screws came out of one of the hinges. I reattached the screws and they came right back out.
