My children have always loved playing board games. Although they at times play age appropriate video games, they always go back to board games. This game provided them with hours and hours of fun. The first thing they loved was the Slugs and shrooms. They both giggled every time they saw them. I even played with them and admit that I enjoyed it as much as I did. It is such a great strategy game and I and my children really liked the level of strategy that was involved. Everyone cheered each other on, even though it was a win or lose game. I liked the pace of them game as it gives them time to think what their next move with be. This is one of those games which has already became a family favorite and will be played over and over again.
Trailz is a great strategy game for all ages. Set up is quick and easy. Overall gameplay is surprisingly simple, but can be deep and has the potential to scale with the age of the child. Trailz is a great alternative for those who want to try something strategic or hone their skills without jumping into chess. The pieces and board have a fun whimsical feel to them, and I found myself having a great time ""eating"" the other pieces.
My 7 year old and I played this and both had a blast! She actually read the rules and then explained the game to me. I checked the rules and she had understood them perfectly...which tells you how understandable they are! The game was challenging..but simple at the same time. It really requires a strategy to win, we kept eating each others shrooms and slugs until she won! It was a lot of fun.
We enjoyed playing this game. It only takes 2 players, so it is quite easy to get the game going. It was like checkers to us. You have to use your strategy and watch out for those slugs. The kids like the slugs eating the other pieces. It can go quick or take a little time trying to figure out your next move.
This is a super fun game to play! It helps to build critical thinking, reasoning, problem solving, and strategy skills! You can play a short or longer version of the game! Time to play game is just right...not too short and not too long! This game is similar in play to checkers, but more fun!
My niece and nephew loved this game! We played it for hours! Now it is the only game they want to play with. I am definitely happy with it and the fun that we had playing with it.
We appreciated that Trailz was quick to setup, easy to learn, and fun to play. The game board and pieces are well designed and high quality. It's fast-paced and would be enjoyable for most all ages. Our one suggestion would be that it would be neat to involve some sort of randomizing element, such as dice or cards. It would also be interesting to see how it would work as a 4-player game. That said, as is, would still definitely highly recommend, and will be playing often!
My two girls played this game together (10 & 17) and both enjoyed it. I was easy to understand the instructions and the loved the artwork associated with this game (both in talented art at school-sometimes it's the small things.) They several games and kept them entertained for quite a while. They look forward to playing they game again.
It's always fun to discover a new strategy take that makes you think. The pieces are cute and well made. The game is a lot of fun with older children who are more adept at strategy!
The game has an interesting concept; however, it can be confusing for smaller children. It is just like chess or checkers, but I think it would have moved along better with dice. It would have taught better number skills. The instructions are confusing at first until you start the game and then it makes sense. I would have played this before sitting down with my children with it. I loved the game pieces. They are intricate and interesting looking. I would recommend this to with people with much older children then 7 or 8.
