Tram 1498 18ft Cb Base Station Antenna, 26mhz-31mhz

The antenna has a 1.1 swr across the entire cb band right out of the box. Signals received and transmitted are very good. As good as a solorcon A-99. Just follow the instructions on putting it together. Very good construction.

This antenna was what I needed to get the distance I wanted from my CB radio. I followed the setup instructions precisely and the SWR's were at 1.1 and 1.4.

I had purchased a tram mobile antenna and I was delightfully surprised how rugged of an antenna it was. I took a leap of faith and purchased the Tram 1498 base antenna. When I received it I was very impressed with its construction and it's engineering, in particular its form factor. It's built more like a diamond antenna or Comet then and Antron or IMAX. I took some pictures of it when I was assembling it and I uploaded to this site because there is scant information about these antennas on the world wide web. For $74 you can't beat that with a stick.

This is a well made, well thought out antenna. It uses quality parts and is well engineered. I bought it to use on 10 meters rather than the CB bands. The instructions were clear on how to configure it for the slightly higher frequency (CB frequencies are in the 11 Meter band). The antenna offers excellent signal strength in both receiving and transmissions. Over all very pleased. This is a great little antenna for the price and compares favorably with antennas costing much more.

I am very happy with this antenna. Rugged design, and good fit/finish on the threaded connections. SWR was perfect using the dimensions recommended by Tram.

Easy assembly, easy tuning. Fiberglass seems more durable than other fiberglass antennaes I've owned. Temporary installation at 15ft working great. So far so good, I wud recommend!

I haven't installed it yet because of a need to cut back some conflicting pine trees. The Tram 1498 was recommended by a friend who has used one for a couple of years, so I expect similar results.

The good: Price is right. Shipping is fast. Item will serve the purpose. The bad: parts to mount the antenna were missing. Now I have to run around town during these holidays and hope I get the right parts to set it up. Bad bad bad.
