TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK - Expedition, Nintendo Switch

My son has loved Transformers for the past 4 years. This year, on his 7th birthday, I surprised him with this Transformers: Earthspark Nintendo Switch game. I recognized this game from the associated cartoon title he watches. He loves being able to transform Bumblebee in the game, and has not lost interest in the game 1 month later.

Here is the most important part of the review - this game runs so poorly on the Switch. Buy it on another system. The game lags, the frame rate sucks, and the game is CONSTANTLY freezing. I play it on my tv and it freezes in the main areas all the time. In the GHOST base, the game doesn't freeze. In order to fix this, lift the Switch from the dock and it will unfreeze. You better hope it doesn't freeze in the middle of a battle, or else you're done for. I considered if this was an issue on my Switch's part, but I can play other games for hours and nothing like this happens. As for the game itself, it is fun! It's pretty well-rounded considering the game developer isn't the best. Overall the game will take you six hours. There are lots of side missions, collectibles, and surprisingly, witty dialogue. There is even a reference to The Touch at one point. So my rating? 4 stars because I want the game to be longer and not just about Bee. 1 star because the Switch's performance is trash.

Bought as a Christmas gift, hopefully he will love it.

It's a one player game, so it did not work well for my boys. They were disappointed.
