I really like the solid wheels. They track very well plus I don't have to worry so much with them being split by the baggage handlers. I had a large checkin get the spoked type wheels split in half by the airlines. But the bag tracked ok if I kept most of the weight off that wheel. The compartments are nice and adequate. I like the compartment for damp items. For a person 6'4", they might be not enough unless you expand the zippered part for the shell. My wife being 5' will be okay packing her gear without expansion. She very seldom packs out a large checkin. I love the color but it doesn't coordinate colorwise with my other Travelpro bags. My wife doesn't like the texture of the hardshell but she doesn't like the texture of most hardshell bags. Lol. I like it because it helps to conceal the banging that the baggage handlers do when transporting your luggage. The handle allows for expansion at my height and for intermediate expansion for my wife. Straps are designed sturdy to allow you for snagging your bag off the baggage carousel. The zippers are sturdy and nice also which allows them to get inserted into the locking system on the side of the bag.
I want to preface this review with the fact that I am pretty much exclusively a soft side luggage person. I travel for long periods of time and I'm a notorious over packer so softside has always served me best and I own 3 Travelpro softside bags from the Maxlite collection. This bag was my first hard side luggage that was not a carryon bag and I was wildly impressed. This bag was extremely roomy on the inside and held everything needed for a 2-3 day trip (as mentioned I'm an over packer so a medium TravelPro Bag covers me 2-3 days, anything longer I moved to a 29” checked bag). I liked the compression pockets and the lining is high quality. Zippers move well and stay closed during transit. I was also extremely impressed with the lack of scuffs and scratches the bag sustained on the trip I took with the bag, although the trip was direct flights only so no luggage transfers. I would need a few more trips with connections and luggage transfers to really vouch for the quality of the exterior material. The spinner wheels are the high quality wheels that come on other Travelpro hardside bags and the telescopic handle performs smoothly each time. The bag is a nice shade of lighter blue that was easy to spot on the carousel. I was also extremely impressed with weight of the bag, I was fully expecting to be far over 50 pounds (again over packing) but I was actually under. I specifically only purchase bags from the MaxLite line because the weight is so low so to not be overweight with a bag from another line was impressive All around an excellent medium sized hard side suitcase.
I received this luggage as part of the Travelpro pilot program for free. I tested this luggage and it feels very durable and felt the premium material. The inside was also designed for a maximum capacity (it feels a lot of room), and was able to hold up my 5 day worth of clothing and other accessories. The outside look was appealing and it's something I'm proud to take where ever I want to go. The spinner was surprisingly quiet and glide smoothly on my way to check my bags.
We have several pieces of Travelpro luggage. This medium hard side spinner is the perfect size for a 7-10 day trip. The wheels are sturdy, the telescoping handle is adjustable, and comfortable to use. The case is extremely light weight and even though I have the black color, there is a nice textured detail on the exterior surface that makes it stylish and stands out at baggage claim. The interior organization is nice, however I would have liked both interior sides to have a zipper flap closure.
My Travelpro Walkabout Medium Hardside Luggage has exceeded all my expectations. As a frequent traveler, I need luggage that is not only durable but also thoughtfully designed—and this bag delivers on every front: The spinner wheels glide effortlessly across all surfaces—airports, sidewalks, carpets—you name it. Lightweight & TSA-Friendly, this bag handles it all with ease and elegance!
I recently received TravelPro's new addition to the Walkabout series; a new medium-sized hardside expandable suitcase for my upcoming travels, and I've been pleasantly surprised by its performance. The hard shell feels solid and offers excellent protection—no more worrying about delicate items getting squashed. Despite its robust build, the suitcase is impressively lightweight, making it easy to maneuver even when fully packed. The interior is well-organized with a zippered divider on one side and compression straps on the other, which helps keep everything in place during transit. I especially appreciated the smooth 360° spinner wheels, which made carrying it from car to hotel room and at airports a breeze. I like its sleek design and just enough flair which makes it stand out on the baggage carousel without looking flashy. I have used the carry-on hardside TravelPro suitcases before and this is a perfect companion to my carry-on. Overall, it's a fantastic choice for frequent flyers or road trippers who need something reliable, roomy, and easy to handle.
It is sturdy and strong. The zipper glides very well. I have many travel pro bags. And as always they never disappoint. The only thing I did not quite like was the color I am not partial to purplish red colors. Being expandable is a must for me so this was a great feature. Travelpro stands by their product if anything were to go wrong. This is very important. It is lightweight and sleek clean design. I am on my way back from Spain on a 4 week vacation and the luggage has held up without any visible dents. Love the bag.
I like the size of it, it is spacious and good for organization. I think suitcases could be cute if the zipper part was the same color as the suitcase. I like some of the other TravelPro designs better - I have the other hard shell ones. I do love all of the TravelPro things I have though, I think it is one of the best and most reliable brands for traveling.
This is the fourth piece of luggage I have from Travelpro. I am very satisfied with the quality and durablility of their luggage when we travel. My only recommendations for Walkabout 7 is to include a zipper lining on both sides of the luggage. Also, the luggage is heavier than my large Maxlite 5 28” soft luggage.
The suitcase is ligthweight and easy to back. Great size for a 2 week international trip. The color made it easy to find and the out shell seemed to hope up well while getting checked. Two of the zipper handles broke off the first time the page Wass checked, making it difficult to close but manageable. For that reason, I probably wouldn't purchase again but felt the bag was overall sturdy. Haing had at least 4 travel pro bags, which held up well, I was surprised and disappointed. I frequ3esntly recommend the travel pro brand to friends. This will make me hesitate.
