These small fans are perfect to sit on your bed for that extra breeze when you don't won't the rooms total temperature raised. Feels so refreshing to sleep under, and the bonus is you use ordinary D batteries you can buy anywhere. I love mine! They would be a great gift for someone who has hot flashes, too.
Sometimes the back seat area of our vehicle just doesn't get the air conditioning like the front. This little gem helps with that! Nice for a camper, too. Also helped us when the power went out in our daughter's bedroom last summer, so we bought a second one, and one in the 10" size. Just like having flashlights..everyone should purchase these! Runs great!
I didn't expect much from this fan but I was pleasantly surprised! I needed a battery operated fan to place in my bathroom to help with the humidity since my exhaust fan stopped working. This fan works great and I usually use the slower speed. Liked it so much I bought a second fan.
I was very surprised that these 5" fans have so much power for their size! And they don't seem to use up the batteries as quickly as other small fans. I have one at my desk and the other on the coffee table in the living room. They will be so useful during the summer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sending them to family and friends in Puerto Rico to help them deal with the heat due to no electricity.
I bought these for times when the electric goes off. It is not as hot if you have air blowing and not so still. I turned them on once that I put the batteries in them and they blew enough air to be comfortable!!!!!
Great little battery operated Fans. I bought them for when electric in house goes out and I need to stay cool. Can also be used outside when weather is hot. I will be buying more for the summer months. Highly recommend.
Was 191st given this fan during hospital stay. It is an awesome little fan with long battery life. Had to replace when I dropped and broke my original fan.
Yes, it's for my pet chicken. She's a 6 y/0 hen. A big fat fluffy yellow Buff Orpington, big baby who follows me around and jumps up to sit on my lap. The walls of her wooden coop is vented on 3 sides, but on the hottest nights, with no breeze outside, she just doesn't get enough air circulation. The little fan sets up on a ledge of one of the window vents, and is placed about 3 ft. away from the roost where she actually sits at night. The little fan basically just stirs up the air, so it is somewhat cooler for her. On the hottest nights I use the high setting, and on just warm nights I use the low setting. To actually have this fan hitting her directly, (or your face), it would need to be placed closer, maybe like1-2 feet away. The fan is nice and compact, with a stable base. (Just unfold it when you go to set it up, it will make several clicking sounds as you do.) The fan is nice and quiet, just a soft hum, even on high. You will need to put in 2 size D batteries to start. There is a tiny little screw (don't totally remove it all the way) for the battery cover. To remove the screw, and to replace it each time for changing batteries, you will need a very small Phillips with either a very short handle, or a pretty long handle. Both kinds have worked for me. I've only had the fan for a few days, and run it only at night, so can't report how good or bad it goes through batteries. I get mine at the dollar store. I have ordered a second one of these fans (couldn't get it from Walmart this time though, they were currently out, so had to use ebay) to have 2 of them side by side. I'm thinking that may be a little more effective.
This is my third purchase of these little fans, which I use to cool myself when I have a hot flash. They work great for this, and I have found they can last from as little as 2 years to 10. I had the on/off switch problem with the last one I bought, but can still use it on high speed and have had it for 2 years.
