Beautiful cut of meat and packaging! Turned out spectacular and delicious. I use a crockpot and it is as wonderful with ths lovely chunk as any method! Lots of spices and a little evoo rub and good to go! Oh and even better tomorrow, open-face sandwiches, HOT gravy just right!
While it may not consistently have the desired amount of fat marbling, the taste and freshness of the meat doesn’t disappoint. Slather it in mustard, garlic powder, salt, pepper, smoke it for an hour and 45 minutes and you’ll have a feast fit for a king every time. Highly recommend.
I am from the Central Coast of California but now live in South Carolina. Tri tip is my favorite thing to grill. Hard to find in SC and it is way overpriced. Out in Cali you can get it for 6.79 a pound so yes it’s over priced. They did not over trim it like Publix or Harris Teeter does. They did leave on a bit too much of the fat cap I guess trying to get more pounds in with the ridiculous price. The meat was good and tasty now if my local Walmart would carry SusieQ’s Santa Maria seasoning.
I recently bought a tri-tip as a more expensive grocery store and by the time I got done cutting all the excess fat off of it there was about a 10 dollar touch it but I was so disappointed. This tri-tip came perfectly trimmed and actually cost me 10 dollars less than the more expensive one I got. It had just a perfect amount of fat on it took it.
Great flavor and good ratio of lean meat to fat. Angus beef is always known to be of highest quality. I used the tri-tip to make Mexican shredded beef and it turned our excellent. You will see most recipes use chuck roast, which is also good, but I found one obscure recipe using tri-tip and decided to try it. No regrets.
Had to cut a lot of fat off most of the tri tips I get. The last one was better. Don’t like paying for the extra weight I throw away. Not cool. Quality and taste seemed ok.
The 2 that i purchased were going to be used as sliders. the day before they were in seasoned and marinated. They were in for over 24 hours. Following slow grilling at a low temperature they remain tougher than they should have been. I questioned the date because the packaging indicated a reasonable period however the t aste and quality were neither juicy or tasty.
Brought me an almost 4 pound roast which is not in the description which over half of it was fat. Not even good fat just hard gristle. This was a complete waste of money. Then after paying all the fees to have it delivered you have to make a trip to the store to exchange. Horrible
Being charged for originally (2) tri tips and NOT ACTUALLY RECEIVING ANY tri tips, is ridiculous. I am so very disappointed with such boldness of Walmart. Considering the inflation cost of food and people choose to still purchase from you; is inconceivable that you would rip me off by charging for items never received. AND then take such a long time to reimburse and refund my money. I’m extremely disappointed.
Ordered for delivery. When I got it the meat was on its last use by date. Got it on the 3 and it had a use by the 3. It smelled bad (rotten) through the packaging and had discoloration ,brown with greenish spots, had to though it away. Tried calling the store it would ring for minutes with no answer. When I finally got a answer and transferred it just rang then hung up
