Too early to tell on its quality and longevity, but for the price and its purported, specific formulation for hydrostatic transmissions, it's a good value. Changed out my transmission oil on a hustler SDX60, with a ZT-3100 hydro gear. After draining and refilling with a gallon jug of Triax, I needed about 8 ounces to fill the reservoir and I used 20W-50 of other brand synthetic engine oil. Probably hasn't been broken in fully yet, but the transmission works like it always has after ~6 hours of mowing. In 2 years, I'll look for this Triax oil again.
I used TRIAX Trans Zero 20W-50 Full Synthetic Hydrostatic Transmission Oil for the first time and noticed a real difference. After the air was purged from the system, the first thing I noticed was the Hydros were less noisy and more responsive than before the fluid change. Price seems fair for $42.00 since new Hydrostatic units cost over $1000.00 ea. Much cheaper to service them than replace.
Used this fluid in a "sealed for life"K46 hydro transmission in my riding lawnmower I watched several u-tubes on the subject - - - without changing fluid, this part will fail long before the rest of the machine wears out. Was quite a job removing and then reinstalling this tranny, but hopefully worth it. My mower immediately showed improvment via quicker response, and the slight "grinding sound" I had started to hear went away. With this high quality fluid, am hoping this process will not need to be repeated for the remaining life of the mower. It is just ashame that good quality fluid isn't used to begin with by the manufacturer, and that there is no drain of refill plug built into the machine to begin with. A purposely engineered failure point. I suggest buyers should inquire whether the transmissions are servicable when purchasing new mowers, and steer toward those machines that are.
Its doing fine after 1 yard cut. time will tell how good it hold up
Works great used in my craftsman zero turn and it took care of a lot of whining
Quick shipping. Just as described.
Great value for four quarts.
Used it before and it works great, also good price for full synthetic oil.
oil worked very well nice to see a oil just for hydros
Sent me the wrong oil! Now what? Instead of Trans-zero 20w-50 full synthetic, they sent me Ultra Trans synthetic blend for tractors which is about a sae 20 oil.
