Troy-Bilt 344cc Compact Riding Gas Lawn Mower with Briggs & Stratton Engine, TB30B

Good rider for a smaller yard. My yard is 1/8 acre and used to take me 2 hours with the push mower. This cut the time down to about 40 minutes. The grass in the back yard is very thick and would bog down my push mower even with the 7.5 hp engine so I was hesitant to get a rider with only 10 hp. I was pleasantly surprised though. It went through the thick grass with no problem, even when it was tall and wet. It seems fairly well built and starts easy every time. If the turn radius was a bit tighter I would have given 5 stars.

The mower arrived with the cardboard over the unit completely destroyed and oil on many places on the mower itself. The battery was also dead and had to be charged before I could even test it.

4 stars only because I just got my riding mower and need time to access it's performance and consistency. 1st ride after assembly is "so far, so good." I will revisit the review if allowed after at least a month.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I really enjoy this little riding mower. As my learning curve increases, the time it takes me to finish my yard decreases. The power in forward is substantial while the power in reverse could be a little better. I found that if I find a low or uneven place in my yard, I can back in first making it easier to pull forward getting out of the low area. With all things considered, I would definetly purchase this item again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this small 30 inch riding lawnmower and my son came to help me put it together and get it off from the pallet that it arrived on. I was excited about getting this mower. Once it was assembled and I put a little bit of gas in it my son had me take it out for a little test drive around the lawn and it did fine. Then I tried to engage the blade and as soon as I tried to engage the blade it stalled out. I repeated this a couple more times with the same results. I thought perhaps I was letting the clutch out too quickly so I slowly engaged at the final time and when I did, I ended up in a cloud of smoke as the belt driving the blade was smoking like crazy. Come to find out there must've been some parts missing because the blade was installed directly in contact with the housing and it couldn't turn! My only choice was to return the entire mower! After reading the reviews and saying that there were not any anti-scalp rollers on the deck and my lawn is not pitch perfectly flat. I decided not to purchase the same mower again. Really it was a shame because that was exactly the size mower I wanted and there are very few 30 inch deck options these days.

This mower worked pretty well the first year. Now in the second year it had to be jump started, which I can accept since it hasn't been used for several months. Now in the second year and trying to mow for the second time, it won't start again. Needs to be jumped AGAIN and of course I have no one around to do so this time. This is not the way a not even year old mower should be acting. Troy-bilt used to be a name you could trust, not so sure anymore. Very dissapointed.

I put the steering wheel on.I put the seat on and then I put the battery in and it wouldn't start.. Needless to say, the box was all tore open.The battery was just thrown in on the side of the grass cutter. I think this was somebody else's problem , and they returned it.. I did take several pictures of how it was received.It was very bad.

Went through 3 shipping companies to arrive and 2 days late. Was free rolling on truck on arrival. Clutch was locked, could not get the mower into 1st, 2nd, and park. Heavy scratch marks on the mowing deck. Dirt inside gas tank. Managed to get the clutch freed but couldn't get the mower to run more than 30 seconds. Started a return and had to wait a week for the mower to be picked up.

It was supposed to be delivered on June 24, 2026, and it's June 29th, and I'm still waiting. I've made a payment on the credit line, but am ready to cancel and get my money back!

Mower was delivered missing most of the assembly hardware, a flat right rear tire that would not hold air for 24 hours and bent left rear axel to the point that the wheel wobbled so bad it rubbed on the frame
