Perfect for surf fishing. They easily penetrate the sand or mud and are long enough to hold well even in the surf.

Added height over pvc spikes helps keep the lune over smaller breaking waves. Eazy to push into the sand and srays in place.

I recommend something else.
The construction of the sand spikes are weak. They didn't hold up for more than one beach trip before the screws became loose and made them flimsy. Tried to tighten the screws, but impossible. 42 inches is way too high and the spikes do not dig into the sand well. They fell over several times, getting the reels sandy. Returning the product and looking for something better.

Worthless
These are horrible. No way to drive them deep into the sand without breaking them. Once they're in, if a fish over 2lbs decides to grabs your hook, these plastic things are going to rip right off the aluminum stake. We lost 3 of them within 20 minutes, luckily we saved the poles first. I would spend money on nicer ones for sure. These are going in the trash.
