We feed 50 to 60 homeless people every week. This pot is perfect for cooking a large amount of pasta.
This worked very well cooking up crawfish. No problems.
I've bought 2 sets prior to this Bayou Classic, the pots last for one use and develop a hole and the pots didn't hold heat as well as my bayou classic, best pot yet!!
This boil pot is of excellent quality and construction. We used it for a Low Country Shrimp (+) Boil for 8 people and it turned out fantastically!! Seriously, the quality/thickness/sturdiness of the metal is really good. I would recommend this product to anyone who likes casual entertaining where cooking the main course is part of the festivities for all of the guests.
I was pleased with the quality of the product and the studiness of the pot. I have seen a lot of pots, but this is the best quality I have seen. I used it to deep fry a turkey for Thanksgiving, and it cleaned up very nicely. I plan on using it for seafood and for when I throw big parties!!!
We fried our turkey this year for the first time, and it turned out to be great! The best part about frying a turkey is the time we save. The bad thing about it is that someone has to stay outside to watch it, and all the oil that's left over. Overall, we love the product and the store. [...] The quality of this product is great too.
This is a great set at a great price.I know you can buy a turkey fryer WITH the burner for $20-30 less. The difference is well-worth the money. To begin with, 32-quart IS the right size for most recreational use.I got it to go with my Baby Kahuna outdoor wok. Both the wok and the turkey fryer cook in ways that are impossible (dangerous) to do in a residential kitchen. The results are likewise unique & special.Since I already had the burner, I started off just looking for a pot. First, most stock pots are too wide to fit without modification of my burner. Second, the price of this whole set cost no more, if not less, than just a stock pot of similar quality. The set is heavy-duty stainless steel: sturdy, durable, and easy to clean. Everything stores neatly into the pot, by design. It is complete. With the basket, rack, and rack modification set for chicken; all my bases are covered. With a large cast iron frying pan, my outdoor burner kitchen is now well-outfitted.[...] Do I recommend it? I sent one to my kids. (Their thermometer is good.)
I received my order earlier than expected even with free shipping. I was greatly surprised by the heavy gage material used. This should last a life time. Thank you Hayneedle.
The Stainess Steel Fryer pot is made of a good quality Stainless & seems to heat up faster than the aluminum ones. I use the pot for steaming crabs, right out of the Chesapeake Bay. I can steam a little more than 1/3 of a bushel at a time & the strainer basket inside is great for getting the crabs to the table. Just a hint on steaming crabs, place a couple of layers of newspaper on top of the pot, then put the lid on with a couple of bricks on top of the lid. (Its a readneck thing) The newspaper keeps the steam from dripping back down on the crabs & washing off the seasonings & the bricks on top holds the steam better & cooks them quicker
Bought this to replace my aluminium pot. Use it to boil corned venison and boiled peanuts (a southern thing in the north.) Haven't cooked a turkey but i'm sure it would work great on a large bird because of it's excellent size. The accessories that come with make it worth the price.
