I have read some of the other reviews. It appears those having problems did not read the instruction. It will vibrate it you don't have it on a surface. I would recommend either to read the instructions, or go to a web site that has a video on using an orbital polisher. For the money this cant be beat. It does an excellent job waxing, and polishing. I was able to do 2 cars in under 4 hours. I would highly recommend this product. If you consider the alternatives, they are quite expensive.
this is a great tool and it is a great price. the foam pad that comes in the kit is cheap and rips easy but if you buy the turtle wax foam bonnet that should be right next to the tool it works alot better and is good quality.
What a surprise! I really wasn't expecting much for $23.99, but... this is GREAT ! No pressing down, let it work for you. Short cord, but, you can get an adapter that hold the cords together. Again, what a surprise !
@A FEW.....READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!! I bought this polisher w/o high expectations because of the price. After I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, and followed directions I was very pleased with the performance. If you buy this product, which I do recommend, here is a TIP I learned the hard way much like one of the previous reviews....After you apply the wax to the foam bonnet like directed to, MAKE SURE THE POLISHER IS IN CONTACT WITH THE VEHICLE BEFORE YOU TURN IT ON and TURN IT OFF BEFORE YOU REMOVE IT FROM THE VEHICLE. Otherwise be ready to wear the wax and fling it all over the car, especially if you are using a liquid wax like I did. I would have given this product 5 stars if it came with better bonnets. The bonnets are on the lower end, but overall I am very pleased with this polisher especially for the price.
I just read the previous bad review and i believe he got a defective product. Mine had a lot of power and was able to apply the wax and then remove it using the two provided bonets. I am very pleased with this item.
Ok other reviewers were right that the foam pad this comes with is complete junk, it tore badly when I put it on the machine first time. Having said that, this unit does work well once you switch to the microfiber bonnet. I used it along with some polishing compound do get the hard water etchings out of my clear coat, after that a quick wash n wax and my truck looked like it came off the show room floor.
I bought this to buff out a few light scratches and wax my vehicles. I didn't expect too much considering it was only 25 bucks. But with the Turtle Wax named on it I thought it would at least do what little I needed. As it turns out, it is not powerful enough for light scratches. As for waxing, it takes a little bit of the elbow grease out of the job. But I still have to finish up rubbing it out by hand to get rid of leftover wax and swirls. One user suggested buying better pads for it. I'll try that and if that doesn't work then I would have rather saved my money and done things the old-fashioned way.
Very first job, it suddenly vibrated too much and spread vax all over my clothes when I took off of car body without turning it off first. It only works with apply gently on the surface. But heavy vibration is difficult on hands.
I bought this hoping it would at least do a decent job, realising I wasnt paying big bucks for a professional buffer. What a dissapointment this tool was. I put the wax on my car by hand, then went to buff/polish with the appropriate bonnet. it just quivered and shook, and would only turn when there was no pressure AT ALL. I can stop the motor from turning with my finger. Obviously, the clucth is worthless and I will return it. I dont know whether this is just a deffective product or if they all are like this so I will not attempt to get a replacement. All I can say is you get what you pay for and "buyer beware".
Actually purchased this for my son's car. He never used it. I was having a lazy day on wash and wax day. After removing the wax by hand. I only wanted to use the stupid thing to shine the car and remove leftover streaks. Microfiber pad only and the orbital does not turn AT ALL with the slightest bit of pressure. It turned and gained speed as long as it was not touching the surface of the car, or if I barely touched in on the flat surfaces. I did a better job by hand as we all know VIBRATING WITHOUT ROTATING does nothing to detail your car.
