Roller Derby
My sister and I used to watch roller derby in the 1960s on television. We never liked the men's teams. We loved watching the women skate. Jimmy Fallon's ring commentator lines are hilarious. The roller derby sequences are great. The romance reminds me of high schools mistakes. The family interaction is good.

Roller Derby Renaissance
Drew Barrymore's directorial debut coupled with Ellen Page's superb acting make for an extremely enjoyable DVD. This movie reflects the ever-growing popularity of all-girl/all-female roller derby leagues that have blossomed all over this country and the United Kingdom. The action in this movie is based on the banked track roller derby that Leo and Jerry Seltzer made so prominent on TV when skaters like Charlie O'Connell and Joan Weston of the Bay Area Bombers were performing. Fans of the sport will love this movie and folks who are not familar with the sport will enjoy the plot. This movie is a feel-good movie with love and passion.
