I've had other Ugly Stik products and have always been happy with them. This one is a little higher in the product lineup and I can fell the difference. Also, the price was nearly the same for this sale item as for the my previous purchase of the standard model on sale. I was very surprised!

To be fair, it's a Christmas gift so we can't really attest to the quality until it's opened. But from the outside it appears perfect. The price was better than where I was originally going to buy it.

Always liked ugly stick fishing rods they are tuff against abuse use

Horrible reel
After using it for a couple days the reel handle loosened on its own and just fell apart as I was reeling it in and I havent been able to put it back together. The reel is useless now. I don't recommend this combo because of the reel it comes with.

Ad states one piece rod sent 2 piece. Spinning reel is different than one pictured. False advertising!
