Ulcerguard for ulcers

Pattie Jane May 6, 2026

My horse has reoccurring ulcers - ulcerguard for 30 days ( an ENTIRE tube first thing in the AM before feed). then had him rescoped to show that he has healed 85% which is great. Now he is on 2 more weeks of it. It's working but the cost is sooooo high.!

LOVE IT

Alybd March 24, 2021

we have a chestnut American Saddlebred Gelding 9yr old that is a rescue who just seems to be having some issues. weather, feed, living change has caused ulcers to rise. did 6 days doses for him and there has been a major different in him. seems to be picking up weight a little more. Our Bay Mustang/TB 10 yr also got the 6 day doses. He is a mean grumpy man! some of it is natural but he was a bit of a brat with us and became very cinchy. He is so much more calm now and level headed. cant wait to ride him and see how much better he did. however I ended up buying 6 tubes not realizing 1 tube is 4 doses. so I now have 3 tubes left over. it is very pricey but it seems to be doing really good. its been a while since I have seen him be extremely loving and I am glad to have that side of him back.

Medicine is good but plastic dispenser is broken.

Green dosage lock does not lock in place to administer the proper dosage for animal weight. The green device moves up and down lever freely without being able to lock. Basically its to big.

FRAUD and Could hurt your animal

Courtney May 12, 2026

I ordered what was advertised online as Ulcergard for horses, but what arrived appears to be a dewormer instead. The product packaging was completely different from the listing photo, showing the old company name “Merial” instead of Boehringer Ingelheim. The paste itself was brown and almost hard as a rock, which is not what I expected from this product. Even more concerning, the back of the box describes it as a dewormer rather than an ulcer treatment. This is extremely misleading and potentially dangerous for horses if owners believe they are treating ulcers when they are not. I contacted Walmart about the issue, but they refused to provide a refund. It's disappointing that a major retailer would continue selling a product with inaccurate labeling and not take concerns about animal safety seriously.

The image Walmar shows is Boehringer Ingersol but the one sent was Merial. The packaging all looked the same except for the small box on the right of the box had Merial. My trainer showed me where Boehringer Ingersol (who purchased Merial in 2017) showed an image of the correct one and the one with Merial on it. Boehringer Ingersol labeled that one FAKE.

Counterfeit

Kelly June 4, 2026

This was a counterfeit product with fake labels. Not safe to use on horses when it's meant to treat a severe illness. Very glad I knew better and didn't use it.

This is a fake product and a scam. I noticed the consistency had changed and called Boehringer Ingelheim and they confirmed it. I filed a complaint on 4 days ago and still have not received a refund.

Angela April 17, 2026

This product came in a box and tube labeled Ulcerguard. Upon reading the label it actually was a product used to treat parasites (dewormer) the product lavel also had a "Merial" on the tube. ***DO NOT BUY!!!***

Fake! Not for ulcer treatment

anonymous March 20, 2026

Fake product. It's labeled as ulcerguard but the tube says for the treatment of worms. We compared it to an ulcerguard bottle and it's completely different. Fake fake fake

FAKE ULCERGUARD

Barbara January 1, 2026

This is FAKE Ulcerguard. It is not from Boehringer Ingelheim! I don't know where it came from, and who knows what is in it! I sent it all back!! They copied the packaging to look legitimate but it is NOT!
