I've been a loyal Ultimate Ears customer for years now, and their products, like the Wonderbooms 2 & 3, have always impressed me. Their speakers usually deliver fantastic sound in a durable, portable package. That's why the WB 4 is such a disappointment, despite its otherwise excellent audio quality and usual WB portability.
The absolute dealbreaker for this speaker is the intrusive voice that announces the battery level and mode changes (outdoor, podcast, normal). It's incredibly cringe and annoying. When you simply want to check the power level or switch between listening modes, this loud, jarring voice blasts over whatever music, podcast, or even silence you're enjoying. It completely disrupts the listening experience and makes what should be a convenient feature into a major frustration. This single flaw makes an otherwise great product incredibly difficult to recommend; I cannot give it anything other than a 1 star review as I will be using my WB 3s until/unless they release a patch to allow the voice to be toggled off :(
