Ultra HD 16 Channel 3TB NVR IR Surveillance System & 8 4MP Security Cameras

This system is fantastic. The hardest part was running the cables but even that was easy since it was just plug and go. The system started instantly. The video is good quality. I like the hidden cables. Online monitoring is convenient and easy to access. I normally don't review products but this one is worth some kind words. It's nice to buy something that works as expected! Thank you for making such a great product to provide surveillance in my insurance office. I can't imagine a better system this one does it all!

I'm a small business owner who has been vandalized a couple times. I was advised to invest in a video surveillance system. I know nothing about this type stuff, nor did I recognize any of the names when I started shopping them. I chose this Revo system based on high mark reviews I found elsewhere on the web. I hired a guy my business neighbor used to install theirs, and he couldn't stop talking about this system (not the same as what my neighbor got). Mostly about how easy it was to install with the quick connect cables and the fact that all cables are hidden off the cameras. He raved at the sharp picture on the LED monitor and how it practically hooked itself up to the internet. He had me load the free app to my iPhone and I was viewing my cameras through my phone in minutes. For me, I like that I can view my business through the phone or at home on my PC, and we set it up for email alerts if any of the indoor cameras detect motion at night. I've never heard of Revo but I'm happy, and the installer says he's going to recommend it from now on.

We just recently completed a major remodel of our house. After completion I decided to add a video surveillance system as we live in a remote area. In researching solutions I found the Revo brand. While most of the product reviews were very positive I decided to look more closely into the negative ones. After my review I concluded that then negative reviews were not based on Revo functionality or products but rather on not understanding their requirements before purchasing. Based with this knowledge I bought the 16 channel Revo system. This system came with four dome and four bullet cameras which matched my requirements. I used the four dome cameras inside and they meet or exceed my requirements. The four bullet cameras are mounted outside, under an overhang. Seems there is a standard for IP cameras called the International Protecting Rating which covers both foreign object protection and also exposure to water. The cameras which came with my Revo system all have an IP rating of 66 which means dust tight and protection from powerful water jets. To me this mends these cameras meet all my requirements. They are not ‘waterproof'. Waterproof cameras are available and seem to start at about $100 each for a very simple camera and are priced to go way above that. I do not need water proof cameras. Once I started to unpack the box, which had some shipping damage, I realized just how professional these guys are. The packaging is amazing, everything fits. The boxes for cameras are all the same size and shape for easy shipment and there is a filler strip to ensure everything is protected. Everything came out of the box and was almost ready to use. The cameras needed to be mounted and it took me a while to figure out where and how to run the wires. Because the cameras get their power from the cable there is no need for extra power outlets near where the cameras are being installed. I used a neighbor kid to complete the runs in the attic so I wouldn't have to crawl around (here is where I really realized I should have installed this while we were remodeling, but it still worked out). On the dome camera there is a small diagram that shows where to drill the holes since they cannot be in the center, but a full size template would be better. Once I had all the camera wires in place I assembled the monitor, which means slipping the bottom on to the monitor and attaching the two screws (they gave me three), which is the only real assembly I encountered. When hooking everything up to the DVR, I thought they had given me an extra power supply, but a quick look at the manual showed the DVR has two power supplies, one for the DVR and one for the cameras, actually a pretty good idea when you think about it. Once I turned it on, it did a very simple self start and my only problem was when they had a screen that asked for a password, which was not needed, and I tried to enter one. In frustration I eventually just hit enter and it completed the setup process. I was sort of amazed that once setup was completed I had video from the eight cameras I installed and that everything worked the first time!! User interface is very easy and intuitive. I could look at several combinations of screens. During setup I selected the ‘record on motion' option, which was recommended. Once everything was working I went back and created a password for my system which was also recommended.. The system is also expandable so I can add an additional eight cameras as needed. One of the very cool parts of this solution which was very positively reported in the other user reviews I evaluated was the remote access. Like some of the other buyers, I needed a quick call to the Revo support center to get by my home router but now that it is set up I can review my DVR from my laptop as I travel which is really cool!! I am very happy with my Revo system as it meets my needs. It alIf you are considering buying such a system, understand what you really need and I think that Revo may have a system for you. I highly recommend this complete DVR solution. I am now looking at adding other security items to our home and this Revo solution has the capability to have the additional components added to the Revo DVR so if there is an alarm, it will use the full functions of this system and send me or anyone else an email notification of the alert. Very well thought out!!

This has been the best unit ever... I've had others and I have had this one for two years now.. I can view it from any where I go on my internet with sound.. And on my Iphone but they don't have sound with the Iphone as of right now.. You don't have to pay a penny for that service all you need is the internet connection. Also when I set the unit up they were just a phone call away and made it easy for me. The great thing I love is that I know when I leave home that everyone is safe and sound.

My main concern with buying a system and installing it myself was ease of use. But these cameras were basically plug and play and the whole system was very easy too put together! So far I am very excited about it, I feel like I can watch my business from my office and not worry so much. The system jumps to the camera with movement on it's own, I have it set to record motion, and I love it so far!

There are a lot of good things about the system. It is very easy to install. However, the remote viewing leaves much to be desired. As currently configured the ability to view recorded video from offsite is pretty much non existent. It takes 20 seconds real time per second of video. Also the sound is inaudible. I have had an extremely difficult time getting support on the phone to see if this is to be expected or a set up issue. Overall the system is very inexpensive compared to similar systems sold by security companies.

Very poor package. the cameras come only with CAT5 cable but they have hookup for power with cable to that is missing. No explanation and there is no Direction or manual in the box. after spending over $1000 for this, you would at least expect to have a small booket or few pages instruction of how to set this up.

I will never buy Revo again. The recorder has problems from day one. We had to take the unit back and exchange it. We had problems with second DVR. Couldn't take back since we already had cameras professionally installed. We will sell this with the house for sure. Customer service not bad but they wanted over $300 to send a loaner DVR while our was in repair. Email notification was a joke. Had over 2000 enails to inform me a camera picked up on movement.

I bought the REVO security system and have had nothing but problems with it. REVO Tech Support is arrogant, uinknoledgeable and not helpful. They are quick to refer you to another person who is not helpful either, claiming "propriety Information" that they cant disclose. They are only interested in selling you more of their Chinese junk product. Save yourself some time, worry and money and have a real security system that works installed by one of your local dealers/contractors. Sams should not offer this product since it casts an unfavorable opinion of the quality of their items they sell. I like and use Sams Club stores for most of my purchases but will have no more of REVO/

Purchased this product thinking it would provide what it promises and it DOES NOT. Only records a few days at a time. Worst of all, the lifetime technical support that comes with this product is aweful. They are suppose to help with any issues you have with this product but you won't. As a matter of fact, if they don't hang up on you after being on hold for 15 minutes or more or if you even get through to them they are VERY RUDE AND CONDESCENDING.
