If you are going to change your oil yourself use the good stuff! This is a very high quality oil, that along with a premium oil filter will last my car a year before its next change. I like the clear bottle. It helps pouring the oil and keeps you from spilling the old oil when you are filling the bottles. An American company with a great reputation and products.
Couldn't think of a better time to see how an oil worked, so I did it in 7 degree weather. I expected the oil to flow slowly since it was so cold outside, and I left the oil in my garage the night before. I was dead wrong. It flowed like the temp was 70, not 7. I've used synthetic oil before, but this is as good as the big brand names are. I won't know for awhile how it holds up to running in my truck, but I expect it will do just fine. If you want a quality product at a reasonable price, then look no further.
I really like this oil as it is fully Synthetic and meets the newest ILSAC GF-6 standard which is aimed at improving fuel economy and enhancing engine capabilities for passenger cars. My Car requires 0-20 fully Synthetic, so this is perfect. Even if my call did not call for full Synthetic, I would use it as I live in the Northeast and this oil does not get thick in the cold winter. Ultra1 is a trusted brand so am anticipating it will work great, but just started using it. The only negative I have is one of the bottles arrive with the sealed broken and the lid a little loose, so a tiny bit of oil leaked during shipment, but not a big deal and only 1 of the 6 quarts had a problem
I got the Ultra 1 Plus motor oil about 3 weeks ago. I have not needed to change my oil yet but there was a very extreme weather event in my area on the third week of February. I was snowed in for a full seven days. While snowed in, I tried to keep my car running at least once a day. It took 3 days to get it started the first time. When I finally got it cranked I had multiple error codes mostly related to having fouled 2 spark plugs. As i was checking things out and trying to improve the performance so that hopefully one day I could go to work, I found I had also burned about a quart of oil in the process. I added a quart of Ultra 1 Plus motor oil which should work well because I run the top brand of full synthetic motor oil always. The Ultra 1 Plus motor oil seems to have blended well with the existing oil supply and I noticed an almost immediate improvement in overall performance. The next time I checked the error codes, they revealed only one spark plug currently not working properly. I think it is working sometimes because my gas mileage has not been reduced by 25%. Overall I have faith that this is top quality motor oil and I think it will perform at least as well as the number one full synthetic I have been paying a fortune to get for many years.
I decided to go full synthetic. Just trying to reduce the times a year I have to jack up the car. I was due a change and my engine sounded a bit smoother, imagination maybe. After one hundred miles my mpg went up a couple of tenths. Also, Made in the USA!
I have been using pure Synthetic oil since the late 1980's when there was a single brand and oil company "experts" claimed it gained nothing which of course their claims were just lies as even aircraft industry required it. Even on engines back then I easily drove a couple of hundred k and that is when engines wore out by 100k due to junk oil. This Synthetic is no different and just looking at is smooth/clean and they are not relying on some fancy coloring to create a fan. This is just pure synthetic motor oil and I feel should be used in old to new. Most vehicles require synthetic now and that helps save the environment because you can change your oil half as much at least (check your vehicles requirement for warranty) and follow what they say for warranty. I am happy this is available and will use it more often because the clarity of it will allow me to watch it and track it's cleanliness.
Great synthetic motor oil. Meets the newest standards for oil. I like that it's a full synthetic. It flows very smoothly even in very cold northeastern temperatures. Fuel economy has slightly improved. I can see easily using this for 10k+ miles without changing it. The price is competitive with the top motor oil brands. I wish I could see an independent lab analysis of the oil to see exactly what's in it and how well it holds up. I will probably pay for a oils sample analysis of this brand new and after 5k miles.
Not bad oil used it in my snowblower seems to work great will use it my car Seems to do what it says oil should .lubricate the engine good for cold weather use
Luckily i have a vehicle that uses this. So I added it because I was a quart low. So far so good. No adverse reactions or problems. I've used this brand before and worked really well.
I have an older lexus convertible, and I LOVE my car. This is the only oil I use, and I'm thrilled to see it at Walmart at a good price. Life is good.
