Ultramax Pitcher

Have been using this for a month now and very happy with the product. The water tastes good and this serves as a storage and we need not look to filter every bottle of water now and then.

I purchased a filter just like this one in October 1998 at a major reatail store for $58; and, it was non digital. I gave it to my parents, and it still works great! Not wanting to use bottled water, and buying a new home, I decided to purchase another one. It's 2008, ten years later; the filter is digital, which I am so enjoying, I got it from Walmart, and it's $20 less. Now that's rolling back the times in a good way. Not to mention that I keep telling people, "You know, this filtered water tastes better than brandname bottled water." Thanks Walmart. Tip from my mother: Keep an extra 1 gallon container of unfiltered water in the refrigerator, and when the filter is empty you can refill with cold water.

The Brita Ultramax is a great alternative if you want an easy and convenient water filatration system and cannot do faucet-mounted. The Ultramax holds a little more water than one of the traditional pitchers and the easy spigot-style dispenser makes filling up water bottles or other containers with small mouths easy. With the digital filter "reminder" it's easy to see when you need a new filter. The product is also easy to clean. It can be easily placed on a counter top or even in the refrigerator. I definitely recommend it!

I was looking for a Filtered Water Dispenser for coffee, drinking and filtered water for our dog. We used to have under the sink filter but it was a hassle to change out. The Ultramax is large enough to accommodate our needs. It is very easy to load water into the well and the container fills quickly [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Provides all the filtered water we need. Many reviews say hard to disassemble for cleaning reservoir. First time was a challenge, but there is a trick to do without breaking or giving up in frustration. 1.Run hot tap water on outside of reservoir for top 3" of it only. 2. Immediately turn right side up and run ice cold water on top 3" of white insert, being careful not to get reservoir cold. 3. Quickly disassemble using dry fingers and pinching motion. No tools required. I don't know why Brita doesn't recommend this use of basic science to aid in disassembly, since it does work well for us. Are you listening Brita ?

I bought this because I got tired of lugging those bottles in and out of the house for my kids and thought there has to be a better way of filling water for them. And well there it was looking at me right on the shelf. Thank you this is so much easier for then to just fill their own bottles when they need to then me always buying more.

Second time buying a similar Britta filter system and it does the job by providing clean drinking water. However, this particular unit does indicate when the filter needs replacing and only comes with a sticker for the consumer to determine when the two months are up in order to change it. Ends up being a guessing game. The unit otherwise fits perfectly in the fridge and is easy to use.

Love my dispenser however the little lever on the spout piece has snapped off. Makes getting the water out almost impossible because there is nothing to grab when trying to turn down the piece. Can't find replacement Brita spouts anywhere on website or others.

After years of using the standard 10-cup pitcher, I finally got fed up with refilling it numerous times a day and bought the Ultramax dispenser thinking the extra capacity would be great. WHAT A MISTAKE. The reservoir doesn't come out making it impossible to clean the tank where the water sits. And the spout is very poorly designed as it sits a good inch above the bottom of the tank so there's always some water sitting in the bottom. It never fully drains, even if you rock it back and forth which grosses me out. I'm amazed at how the instructions tell you to clean it, and to drain out the first couple pitchers of water since they may have carbon in them, and yet in reality, you cannot actually clean or completely drain it! I would return this product but I cannot get all the water out enough to put it back in the box and I'm pretty sure the store where I purchased it won't take it back w/the water in it. :) Brita - please make some improvements to this product. I love the idea of having a larger capacity dispenser in the fridge, but this one has too many flaws. What good is it to filter water and then let it sit in a dirty tank until you drink it?

Has the typical leak problem. Worked well for a month, consistent leaking from the spigot ever since. No amount of tightening, adjusting, etc can fix it. Very disappointing, and wish I had read the reviews before buying. Everyone seems to have a huge problem with leaks from the dispenser models.
