My husband bought this 2 days ago , and we had it for dinner tonight it is terrible, it taste bad and there is greens stuff in it that is very hard , like chewing wood pieces! I'm very sick to my stomach right now , tried to go on site but , there's no site for complaints! Tried to call number on package and disconnected ! Lol sorry husband put in sink grinder , numbers on package on photo ,
Awful taste! I've tried many brands of cheddar broccoli rice and this one was by far, the worst that I've ever tried! In fact, it was actually inedible without completely "doctoring" it up! I followed the directions and grabbed the pouch where it said "cool touch" and I still got burnt!
I purchased this for the first time yesterday when my typical brand of cheddar broccoli rice was out of stock. I figured Uncle Ben's was a fairly reputable brand and should be an acceptable substitute. But boy was I wrong. First, the smell was off, and the color was an odd brownish tone you don't ever expect from rice. It was mush from the start. The taste was both simultaneously bland and horrible, which I never thought was possible. Attempts to doctor it failed and I threw it away. Who knew rice could ever taste that bad?
Broccoli Au Gratin was seriously my favorite food, and when it was discontinued my heart was broken. I have about 25 boxes stockpiled which I have to ration out for the rest of my life, or until you guys realize Ready Rice is just plain not good and go back to making boxed rice. This just tastes like a plastic bag, and the texture is too soft. Rice you cook tastes way better than something you just microwave, I'll take the extra 20 minutes any day over this.
Every flavor of these that I have tried has been awful. They have a really weird smell (maybe the plastic bag?). This has ZERO broccoli in it (I don't even know how they can make that claim) and has ZERO cheese taste. I can't describe what the taste is exactly, but it's neither broccoli nor cheese (imitation or otherwise). The texture is already mushy like overcooked rice. I'm a great home cook and have a very well developed palate (non-smoker). Sorry but this stuff is bland & terrible. I'm curious who is taste-testing this stuff and saying "oh, this tastes just like cheddar and broccoli." ?????
The box recipe was one of my favorites as a child and was still a favorite. This product now is awful! Please bring back the old product but until then I do not intend to touch this and no one should.
I thought maybe this would compare to the box version I used to love. WRONG! This product was gross. Bad smell, flavor was off. I thought maybe something went bad on the shelf - NOPE - terrible product!
This tastes absolutely terrible. We used to love the broccoli cheddar augratin rice and now can't find it anywhere. You need to bring it back. So disappointed.
I tried the broccoli cheese ready rice because I couldn't find the original broccoli cheese rice in the box. It didn't taste as good to me, and I will not be buying it again.
Not nearly as good the stovetop cheddar broccoli rice that doesn't seem to be available now. Very disappointed.
