Beginning teaches as you go, lots of depth in tactics after that.
this game reminds me so much of the early ogre battle games and its amazing
this great rpg so many things to do get renoun get gold get treasures spend to buy troups explore for more troup types great story upgrade towns to get more troup purchase upgrade renoun to upgrade troups just keep you so busy that you dont know the time one of best
I went into the game without reading a lot beforehand. My wife and I both loved Odin Sphere, and while I wanted this for her it was more difficult than she cared for. We both agree the graphics are beautiful. The Story is fun but the gameplay itself takes more center stage. It's Ogre Tactics style with squads of characters that you control on battle maps and you don't manually control the characters in combat. There are a lot of character classes to learn about and you can edit character behavior for the auto-battles. If I had more time in my life ( or was much younger ) I could get lost in the depth of configuration. I picked a higher level of difficulty than I should of, but I think I can continue playing casually with excess grinding from not paying much attention to the huge amount the game tried to educate me on in the beginning. I can see doing another playthrough and paying attention. I picked it up on sale and can certainly recommend if the review sounds in the ballpark of your interest. It is a Vanillaware title, and I played Odin Sphere, Grim Grimoire and Muramasa almost twenty years ago, and enjoyed them all as well.
