rhoa is a preety nice acanner, took me a qhile to get the hang of it. going smooth now, I aaw on YouTube that people turn these things back to the retailer, don't do that, these scanners are not complicated, just that they have new programming, and different ways of handling what you want to do, its alreasy programmed, you just put in your zip code, and wallah, gives you thousands of frequencies, but does not give you everything... tou must dins those yourself, which is what scanning is all about, yeah sure, I would love that if it did, but you know rhat would also take out all of the fun, remember when tour mom or brother or sister would do you homework for you, of course when they did that, did you learn anything??? nope you didn't. I put some of my own frequencies in too,
Nice scanner picks up everything. Just put in my area code and it scanned and picked up everything in my area and around me. I didn't have to program anything. I really like it and think it is well worth the price . I ordered it and received it 2 days later.
This is a VERY-HIGH QUALITY/HIGH-PERFORMING Radio-Scanner (up to 80 frequencies per second) and I use an EXTERNAL OUTDOOR DISCONE-Type ANTENNA ... HOWEVER ... To get it to that level of quality and performance the user needs a Windows Computer and to install and run UNIDEN's Sentinel Software to ... 1. Keep the Radio Database Frequency List Up To Date, ... and ... 2. Keep the UNIDEN FIRMWARE Up To Date. --- Do these things and I don't think to can get better. --- There are some additional UNIDEN UPGRADES that May or May Not be needed - It just depends on your area of operation. --- Do SOME Research of the Options before your Final-Purchase.
one of the best most capable scanners made
Outstanding
Scanner was shipped faster the I expected. So far it is receiving our local Simulcast agency well. The radio is very easy to program using Sentinel software. If all goes well, I will update my review.
Firstly This is the very best handheld scanner you can get in 2024 with a price tag to match . if you want this unit i suggest you get it directly from the manufacturer so you can get it programmed for your area at an extra cost as well as enabling features like waterfall. also consider the gps unit so you can stay connected while traveling . be aware many police frequencies are encrypted and and CAN NOT be received . you can not charge and listen to this unit at the same time so if you do not have to have a handheld go for the sds200 base unit.
Pay $600 dollars and trying to use Sentinel software with a Mac is harder than learning Sanskrit. Uniden NEEDS to do a better job.
The product does not work as represented. I would like to obtain a replacement as mine is defective.
Wal-Mart put the item on Sale, did not deliver the item, gave me a refund and now item is back to full price.
