This scanner works very well in my area. Use a PC to program, it will save you alot of time and frustration vs. doing it all on the scanner itself. It was worth the purchase for me. Do your research before you purchase this, as some counties use different communication technologies. Not all are the same.

works great got in just 2 days you can buy all paid upgrades on uniden website about $180 more for all the paid upgrades during and nxdn and provoi8eand waterfall and once turn on all scan options I heard alot stuff including military that wasn't encrypted

rhoa is a preety nice acanner, took me a qhile to get the hang of it. going smooth now, I aaw on YouTube that people turn these things back to the retailer, don't do that, these scanners are not complicated, just that they have new programming, and different ways of handling what you want to do, its alreasy programmed, you just put in your zip code, and wallah, gives you thousands of frequencies, but does not give you everything... tou must dins those yourself, which is what scanning is all about, yeah sure, I would love that if it did, but you know rhat would also take out all of the fun, remember when tour mom or brother or sister would do you homework for you, of course when they did that, did you learn anything??? nope you didn't. I put some of my own frequencies in too,

Nice scanner picks up everything. Just put in my area code and it scanned and picked up everything in my area and around me. I didn't have to program anything. I really like it and think it is well worth the price . I ordered it and received it 2 days later.

Wal-Mart put the item on Sale, did not deliver the item, gave me a refund and now item is back to full price.

I'm going to give it a five, but it wasn't for me. I returned after a few days of trying to figure it out. It was way over my head but I'm not blaming the scanner. I would say it's for advanced techy folks.

Scanner was shipped faster the I expected. So far it is receiving our local Simulcast agency well. The radio is very easy to program using Sentinel software. If all goes well, I will update my review.

This is a great scanner overall. Gor it for St. Louis area, but unfortunately Police throughout the metro area uses an encrypted system which it cannot decrypt. It can liaten to all P25 digital systems just fine. It gets 3 stars cause I don't lile the fact that even after spending $700 on a piece of scanner, they want me to pay hundreds for DMR/ other mode upgrades, even for waterfall. That's just wrong!

I never received the item and I still haven't got my money back

The description did NOT mention that it cannot work with encripted channels, causing undue returns
