Son uses it to to listen to trains at night, falls out after this. Used it at the NASCAR race also.

Unable to receive police fire or ems radio calls
This scanner only receives amplitude modulated airwaves. Most police, fire and ambulance services use frequency modulated or digitally modulated signals. The only transmissions I heard were aircraft and the weather forecast. I was unable to hear any CB transmissions on any of the 40 channels. This scanner would have been a good choice back in the day before transmitters became highly complex and encrypted.

"Buyer beware!"
Unless you only want to listen to your local fire department, this item is NOT good for anything else. At least this is the case in my area. We need at "least" 800 channels. Review before purchase. I got "most" of my money back, I had to "Eat" the shipping cost.

Horrible
I have been a scanner enthusiast for years and I know allot about scanners. This scanner has been working ok although it doesn't have the best receiver. Now it is messing up and not working well and I am unable to return it.
