In my 70s I don't feel the need to stare at my phone for hours on end. The small size allows me to slip it into any pocket, usually front jeans pocket. It's a little weighty, but that means the battery easily lasts a full week with my usage. I've let Google Voice run most of my communications for over a decade, so the transition to this phone was pretty much seamless. My old phone was stuck on android 12, so the move to 14 was enlightening. Unihertz provides a standard android installation, so there's no provider supplied 'junk!' Along with it I bought some usb-c earpods, and the sound and call quality is excellent. Thus, no qualms about the absence of a headphone jack. I'm running it on Boost, but plan to move to Mint before long.
Unihertz small phones are great. The Jelly Pro was my main phone for 2 years. I am liking the larger screen on the Jelly Max. And the phone still fits in a front pocket. I doubt the OS will get an update, but Android 14 should still do what I need for a couple years.
MMS did not work. My carrier's customer support checked my IMEI and informed me MMS doesn't work because I was sold a version of the phone not supposed to be sold in my country. When a Walmart representative explained this to Unihertz and requested refund or replacement with a US-compatible phone, they initially brushed it off entirely. The second time they were contacted, they responded with a bizarre and extremely rude message addressed to Walmart instead of to me telling Walmart to watch out for me because I'm probably a liar and a scammer. Buy this product at your own risk.
