No set up required, just install the batteries and it connects to the tv.

Good if you don't use a digital tuner or antennae
It's a good value. Works with no setup. But, if you use a digital antennae or tuner, this remote lacks the decimal "." button you need to enter channel numbers like "4.2". I bought this for my dad, but he can't use it without that button. I tried to find a manual in case there is another way, but there is no manual.

Garbage remote
The remote came in broken the back where the battery goes. It has a big crack down it, and it also has a slit on the front of the remote as well pretty much no use. I put tape over the battery. oh yeah, but you shouldn't get a brand new product and have to tape it to use it.
