I bought this on my way to becoming a vegetarian I have multiple sclerosis and I'm taking meat out of my diet this was very delicious I will recommend if you're trying to eliminate meat out of your diet it was very tasty I will be purchasing this for now on I use it in most of my dishes that require meat is a perfect alternative for a meat substitute
We eat plant based as much as possible and love this taco mix. We saute red pepper, green onions and mushrooms to street taco mix and use for taco salad or tacos topped with chipotle aioli and avacado. I was very sorry to see our grocery store stopped carrying it.
I'm absolutely in love with this plant-based taco protein! It's become a staple in my meal rotation, offering a satisfying and flavorful option that's also relatively healthy and within my budget. While I didn't care for the suggested preparation method, I found a way to make it even better. Instead of using water, I rehydrate the protein with mushroom stock and cook it with diced tomatoes with chilies, crushed tomato, and a bit of oil. To really make the flavors pop, I also add some cayenne, cumin, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic. This taco blend is so delicious that I buy it in bulk and always keep some on hand in case Walmart stops selling it. I love that it's a plant-based option that doesn't sacrifice on taste or texture. If you're looking for a flavorful and healthy way to spice up your tacos, I would definitely recommend giving this product a try!
Within less than fifteen minutes, you can have a delicious meatless meal with this Urban Accents Chipotle Taco Mix. It is good as a stand-alone meat substitute following the directions or with a splash of taco sauce added when the mix is browned. The flavor has a little spice from the chipotle, but it is not overwhelming. The crumbles do not turn brown like ground beef, so follow the package instructions and do not overcook.
I LOVE THE TASTE! As plant based I'm trying to innovate with soy and I kept this on my shelf for mooonths! Tbh I thought the best meatless is the one we can refrigerate. NOPE! The taste is so good and it's a lot more than it seems. I Apologized to the meatless taco Street for keeping it on that shelf for so long LoLol 🤩
This was actually pretty good. I would recommend adding a little salsa to the dish while it is cooking just to hold it together. But the taste was good.
definitely buying again, even if you eat a double serving its only 100 calories. i didnt mix in peppers and onion i just added corn it was delicious. the meat reminded me of the taste of sofritas at chipotle 😋
This was good. Not out of this world fabulous and certainly not hot as some reviewers mention. Its a tiny bit spiced because it supposed to be Mexican for tacos. Its a good meat substitute for tacos, burritos or scrambled eggs. No animals had to lose their life for me to have a taco, which does make it excellent. We enjoyed it. Reminded me of taco bell tacos. I'll buy again.
These are pretty on point regarding texture and look but you will have to be VERY creative with seasonings. If you are going for a more traditional American style taco, grab a taco seasoning pack or 2. I can't be mad at them though bc the texture is on point and bc they are so flavorless, I can see them working as a ground meat substitute for a variety of dishes. Plus, it's nice to have a shelf stable 'meat' option to throw on the pantry that won't go bad for a long time. Just be prepared to season.
I had no idea that this was dehydrated. You have to add water to it and brown it in the skillet. I couldn't get it to brown. It was ok for tacos but I'll likely not purchase it again.
