US Stove BSK1000 Barrel Camp Stove Kit

It works perfectly for what I need . Easy enough to follow.

Exactly what we wanted and came quicker than we thought.

it was so simple to put my barrel stove kit together, (I chose a 2 barrel set up) . most people use this in their shop or garage. but i put it in my basement ( it is set up like a garage with a roll up door) and after setting it up built a box around it with 2x4's and tin with a 18 inch clearence on each side, wider than the barrels, I cut out two round holes and let the barrels stick out 3 inches on the front side of the tin. and put a blower on it drawing air from my return air duct to the fan ( I built a small box for it) then to the bottom of what I call (the heat box) around the barrels. then put a duct out of the top of the box next to the smoke stack for max heat to my duct where my over priced propane furnace used to be and sealed it all up nice and tight. with high temp silicone. now we are as warm as ever and it Does Not COST me a fortune to run, like my propane did. and we dont smell the wood ( that was a must for my wife) thank you for such a GREAT KIT. I tell everyone about it !!!!

WELL MADE PARTS EASY TO USE THE CASTINGS FIT THE BARRELS VERY WELL AND MADE FOR A GOOD FINISHED PRODUCT. THE END RESULT IS A GOOD HIGH CAPACITY SHOP HEATER FOR A REASONABLE PRICE ALONG WITH A LITTLE WORK. THINGS THAT ARE NOT SO GREAT ABOUT IT IS THE QUALITY OF THE FASTENERS PROVIDED COULD BE IMPROVED.

The University of Vermont built an instrumented test cell for wood stoves when they became popular in the 70s. They tested the major brands for output and efficiency. At the end of the llst of factory units they loaded up a 55 gallon barrel stove as a baseline. It is fortunate that they ran it last, It damaged the test cell. A barrel stove is the best bang for the buck on the market. A 30 gallon stove is a bit more manageable unless you are heating a pole barn. Add the second barrel on top for more heat recovery from the smoke. Install the griddle option if you want to cook. A barrel stove is a very flexible unit. The look grows on you too. Vogelzang is the Cadillac of barrel stove kits. The big door just fits in the end of a 30 gallon barrel. You don't want to load wood as big as the door. It lets you load twisted pieces of wood that wouldn't fit through a small door. It also facilitates cleanout when you ash the stove.

This is an amazing product. it is an inexpensive and highly effective way to heat your garage, shop, or cabin i have one in all three. i prefer the two barrel stove over one barrel due to bigger heating area i highly recomend this product for any one who needs inexpensive and effective heat.

I now have a warm work shop.. easy to put together.. Works like a champ Added some fire brick in the bottom and put a fan behind it and we have a $200.00 forced air heater.. I also purchased the 2 barrel kit in order to get more heat out of the system

I bought the kit for a 35 gallon drum. The door fit perfectly and closed tightly. the legs were a little short for my intended use so I bolted on extensions. The collar for the stove pipe may fit better on a 55 gallon drum but it does not leak on the 35 gallon it just does not lay flat. I have used the stove in my 30 x 40 foot garage and it easily warms it up. I look forward to many years of use with this stove.

This kit is similar to older kit ordered but door so much thinner it warped on third fire; now door leaks so much air the wood burns much faster. Not as air-tight as before. No seal available that will fit gap. Poor quality door, i.e. thin metal. Wish we had kept old door and hinges; much thicker and better. Would not recommend.

it's sounds like in the ad that there is everything including the barrel it shows the picture and talks like its included other wise never would of purchased
