My husband and I are fans of the original Code Names. We have a 10 & 8 year old to entertain and keep busy during this Co-Vid 19 isolation. This is a great game for the whole family. One side has the Disney characters, the other side has their names so you can play either way.
You don't even have to love Disney to play this game, great simple game that doesn't even need to be competitive if you have kids. It is best with 4 players, but we have played with 3 players just for fun.
Great couldn't find it anywhere. So happy you had it. My granddaughter was thrilled to get it for her birthday.
My family really enjoys playing this game together. Even our youngest at 5 was able to play the basic game. I love that it has options for easy play and more advanced play so we'll be able to play this game for a long time! Easy enough for kids to play each other or create teams. A lot of great Disney pictures bring the game to life. Everyone wanted a turn to be Cluemaster!
We had a great time playing this game!! We had 8-10 people playing so It took a little bit to get the instructions clear to everyone and the kids were a little confused but after playing about two rounds everyone was on the same page and we had a blast!! I liked that you can make it as easy or as difficult as you'd like by just thinking of different words to use as clues. There are also endless possibilities for grids and cards so no two rounds will ever be the same!! It's a great family game, and I like that you work together!
We really loved the Disney version of Codenames. We all thought we were so familiar with Disney and that this would be easy, but it was a challenge! We've played lots of games that got quite heated! I think it's only in a game like this that you notice how many characters have "alfalfa hair" and that you'd have to debate if Snow White or Jasmine is considered more of a tramp. ;) Definitely recommend this game!
Disney Codenames is much like the original Codenames game, but instead of just words for teams to guess, you have the option of pictures too. I really like the added challenge of the pictures, and it also gives children who are proficient readers the opportunity to play too. It's a great buy.
Our family loves Code Names! This fun Disney spin allows younger players that might not be reading quite yet to join in on the fun! Above and beyond that they have TONS of cards with pictures on one side and names on the other side. This allows you to cater the challenge to any skill level! I love that they included ALL the Disney movies we love!
We love the original Codenames game, but it's a little too advanced for our kids so we got this one and the kids do a really good job with the movies they know, same with adults. The better that you know Disney movies (new and old), the better advantage that you have. Overall, we have had a lot of fun with this game. Typically, the kids play the picture side and the grown ups play the words side. There are a lot of cards from a lot of movies and several options of game play that make it fun and keeps it interesting . We would recommend for any Disney loving family!
This game is definitely better for large groups, so that you can play in teams. My family tried to play it with two players, and it was terribly boring. The other problem was that my 7-year-old just doesn't know enough about every single Disney movie to identify every card, so there was no hope for us playing the version with the words instead of the pictures. If you have a very large group of competitive die-hard Disney fans, this is the game for you. If you're just looking for a fun family game, I'd look elsewhere.
