Utz, Specials Pretzels, 26 oz Barrel

My family loves salty pretzels and these are the best we have tried. UTZ also, has an extra salty one but cannot afford its extreme price at Walmart. My granddaughter feels these are not salty enough. Pros: comes in jar type container that minimizes pretzels being crushed during transport compared to bagged and seems to keep them fresher longer. No added sugar. Some fiber and protein. . No cholesterol. Affordable. Like the sourdough. Cons: high salt content and it has calories, try and watch portion size. Does contain carbs. Preferred snack for us.

I love these pretzels. Had to order shipped this time. Really broken up in shipping. 90% broken. No packing material in box so that may have helped break them. Still taste good but mainly just pieces.

I purchased two containers of pretzel twists to dip for a school bake sale. I bought this brand in the containers in hopes that there would be less breakage than the bagged versions other brands have. By the time I sorted the broken pieces and the whole pretzels, I filled a whole container with the broken pieces. I purposely bought two containers because I expected some breakage, but I did not expect this much. Just putting this review here to give a heads up that if you’re dipping these and need unbroken twists, I recommend buying double the amount.

I was a bit disappointed because the container was only 3/4 full. I was hoping they were the Dark Special. I would love to try the other flavors (Extra Dark, Pumpernickel, etc) but I don’t want to have to buy 4 bags of them.

Apparently these jars of pretzels are put into paint can shakers before being delivered. My jar was delivered half-full of tiny broken pretzel pieces. One would hope that care would be taken so as to not destroy the contents. Imagine buying a bag of chips and opening it only to find a bag full of chip crumbs.

I was so disappointed! the taste was good but when it came the pretzels were in little pieces and there are a pile of salt and pretzel crumbs at the bottom of the barrel... picture included...

Sourdough yes but the salt is too much. The Yuka app rates it extremely high in Sodium bicarbonate which leads to breast cancer. In-fact most edible products from Walmart are unhealthy. I purchased these because sourdough isn’t found on your shelves and low salt isn’t found online from Walmart.

If I could give a zero I definitely would. I do not like doing reviews as I know someone suffers repercussions of them. However, I purchased these for my business but when I received them nearly every pretzel was broken. Out of the whole container there were 9 pretzels that were not broken.

Just opened the pretzels today 7/31/25 and they tasted “off”. Looked and expiration date was June 30, 2025
