After receiving my purchase, I am blown away by the quality and design. This is the first mobile controller I have used that doesn't require removing my thicker case (dbrand). The buttons are responsive and the grip is extremely comfortable. This makes playing mobile games like ZZZ a breeze and is especially great for streaming PC games to my phone via Moonlight and emulation of old SNES and N64 titles. While the wait to get my order was longer than expected (given customs on shipments from China I was unsurprised), the wait was still worth it. I paid $100 for a backbone v2 in the past and the grip was so awful and sticks so small I had to return it after just a few days. For only 50% more, the Vagabond is roughly 5-6x better overall. The price tag is worth it. This is a device I see myself using for a long time to come
After recently recieving this product i have to say it is amazing. From the plug and play by just installing the app and hooking up the phone to all the customization u can also do in the app. So far i have been really enjoying the product and a real recommender for anyone that is searching for a mobile controller. Have to say that customer support is very helpfull and will do their best to help you with your problems.
I play Zenless Zone Zero on mobile and after using a Backbone, then a GameSir G8, I felt like I was on the right path to the perfect gaming controller but hadn't found THE ONE yet. After testing a Kishi ultra and feeling underwhelmed I stumbled upon the Elo Vagabond. I watched a few reviews and after staring at the site for a while I bit the bullet and typed my card info in. The shipping is fast, the packaging OOZES premium in a way I haven't experienced with a new electronic device in years. This controller single handedly convinced me that with the right games a phone could replace a steam deck. Playing ZZZ on the go is one thing, my previous phone did that too. But the Vagabond's quality and premium handling had me staring at the Resident Evil 4 Remake on the App Store. I've now completed RE4 entirely on an iPhone 16 Pro Max with the Vagabond and at no point did it ever feel like a compromise. So, developers, the ball is in your court. The power of mobile devices is here, the premium weapon of a controller that is the Vagabond is here, let's replace my home console. It's that good.
I'll get to the point - this controller is easily the best fitting, best feeling and best featured I've ever used that isn't a console controller. Hall Effect triggers AND sticks should guarantee great and long-lasting performance, and from what I played so far - it feels responsive and smooth to use. Big up! The 3.5mm audio port and passthrough charging via a USB type C port that is smartly located just underneath the right handle guarantee seamless use with any audio and/or charging solution we can come up with, so that's great too! As the title of my review says, the one biggest missing feature in my opinion is the lack of haptics and vibrations of any kind. I have no doubt it poses a significant engineering challenge, but I also know that it really could make this controller stand above all the rest as the single best one in its category of telescopic controllers for mobile devices.
The Elo vagabond its easily the best controller for phones in the market period, and the price its absolutely worth it. The best thing about its the fact that it has the ability to adjust the control according to the size of your phone, making it compact with any phone case (so you no longer have to remove your case every time you want to use the control, making it MUCH more comfortable) and makes it have a much better grip in general. Not only that, the quality of the control and especially buttons are TOP notch, its really hard to find an controller with this quality on the buttons. At first glance when you test the controller you may think that they are a bit cheap, but once you get used to it you realize that the buttons are extremely well built. At much the only issue is that the price and that it cant connect to your PC(i know isnt made for the PC, but man, ill LOVED that would been an functionality) but overall if you are looking for an GOOD controller for your phone, this is the best one in the market. period.
Excellent customer service and product it works perfectly and ticks all my boxes.
When it comes to mobile gaming, emulation is my go too. It is awesome to have a controller that pairs up seamlessly to all my emulators and allows for long comfortable gaming sessions. I use a Samsung fold 6 with a case and the different sizers make fitting the phone a snap. The hall sticks and triggers feel great. The microswitch buttons are snappy, but not too loud. The pass through charging and headphone jack are in great spots that don't impact comfort. As for the app I can't say much as it's still missing key functions (will be updated ) Coming from the gamevice flex this is night and day in both comfort and performance. Customer service is fast and responsive (keeping our canadian stereotypes true). My one nit pick on the controller is the box presentation is amazing but I would much rather trade that for a usable storage case. I travel often with work, and beeing able to have a case to store it while traveling would have been ideal. Having a $240 cad (shipped) controller floating around my bag without cover is not ideal. I understand allot whent into this device to bring it to the masses. But shipping with some form of trav protection would have been the ticket to me trying to convince others to buy it with the energy of a used car salesman. If you are in the market for a premium controller that is well built and comfortable, this is it . If you spend allot of time with emulation and sevices such as gamepass this is the one and only controller worth getting.
I actually approve, much better than the backbone for larger handed people. However the only reason I refuse to give it a five star rating is that their partner for delivery is a poorly rated company and dropped all communication for tracking your delivery for two while (extra) days from the delivery schedule. I feel like I was pu sided for being too poor for their express shipping. :(
It works amazing but the problem I have is that it has a charger socket to charge while gaming but as soon as I connect my vagabond to my charger it stop working. If you fix that bug you'll have the ultimate gaming controller. Its also pretty pricey.
I'm using it mainly with my lenovo legion android tablet, it's great for most of the games, but, the L2 and R2 triggers sometimes makes mis-trigger, I tried calibrating them but still on COD gets stuck while I'm. Shooting or scoping, any suggestions?
