This is an adorable lego-like build set featuring two bears who seem to be in love! I would not advise buying this for a lego-building kid unless an adult is assisting, because it is a little complex to put together and I wouldn't want to frustrate a younger child. The bears even have posable legs, due to a little ball joint-type piece, so they can be posed like they are dancing, just like the picture on the box. That said, it is a fun challenge with a cute outcome, which can be taken apart and stored, or left out as a display. This was priced at $18-$19 but I received it in exchange for my honest thoughts. I would not have spent that amount on this (though the subject matter would have made this a temptation); I'm a frugal sort, though, and not in love at the moment. But for $10-$15, a definite YES. But that's just me. The first thing I thought of, though, when I saw these two "bears in love", was a VERY funny song called "Zacherly", written and sung by Bob Dorough, a jazz composer, musician, and singer. Please look it up! His is a well-known voice among grown-up kids (which would include me) who saw "Schoolhouse Rock" shorts in between cartoons on Saturday mornings. Bob wrote and sang such educational hits as "Three Is A Magic Number" and "Lolly Lolly Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here", among many others. But "Zacherly" is about a "happy bear" who meets a "bear named Claire, blonde hair, pink nose, a laughing air". And the song -- and their story -- goes on from there! I won't spoil it; you've got to look it up. So that is what drew me to this particular build set. This would make a great Valentine's gift, but also think cute anniversary gift, for an older kid who is a lego fan, or from one kid to another as friends who like cute bears or build sets, or definitely a boyfriend/girlfriend gift for any occasional surprise. Here are some photos to show you the scale of the finished build!
