If you're looking to add hostas to your garden, one option to consider is Van Zyverden. They offer bare root hostas. I like them because if the outdoor conditions are not optimal for planting, you can start them indoors in containers, and plant them outside whenever you like. The added bonus is that you have a bigger and stronger plant at that point, than if you had waited to plant the root directly outside. I purchased the Olive Bailey Langdon variety, and they are growing quite nicely. Give them a try!
My 2 hosta plants are growing! The roots came tied together in the bag, so make sure you separate them or you might think there is only 1. Very impressed with this product!
Always blooms beautifully
I've bought bulbs from this company before and I never had a problem with my bulbs growing.
Great colored plants for any garden!!
looked a little dried out but we will see if it blooms
Some came really healthy and others were just strings… but will need to wait until they bloom to truly see
Still waiting on a spout…
This was not what I expected at all. The package was supposed to contain 2 roots. It was 1/4 full of potting mix, and after sifting through the entire contents I located one parcel of what looked like dried out hairs tied with a string. They were apparently hairlike roots, completely desiccated. I planted the pitiful 3 inch long sparse bundle, but we all know how that's going to turn out. I don't expect it to grow because it looks dead. Also, where's the second one?
I'd give this zero stars if I could. I bought 2 bags of dirt for $10 . There were no roots in the bags, just super dry potting soil. Do not waste your money.
