These shoes are great! I wore them to skate and just to wear, and they stayed in good condition till I grew out of them. The box they came in was also sick,10/10
This shoe is amazing, when I first put the shoe in it fit like a glove. The other sk8-hi pros were a little bit uncomfortable at first but they broke in but this one is amazing it pretty much solves every problem a shoe has and has great style. Durability, Comfort, and Style is this shoe.
I'll be honest, if I was still in my prime, I wouldn't skate these shoes. They are stiff, the soles are thick, ankle mobility is compromised, they are heavy, and get hot in the sun. With that said, the reasons I wouldn't skate them in my prime are the reasons I love them now. They are stiff and support my ankles. The added height and extra padding of the upper adds more protection to the ankles. The cushion in the sole keeps my heels from getting bruised. These are great shoes for carving around a bowl on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I've worn Vans for forty years and usually have at least a couple of pairs in different colors for different looks. When I needed a fresh pair of slip-on's I tried the Skate version and was so happy that I picked up the Skate Sk8 Hi in the classic blue and navy colorway. The Sk8 Hi fits me very well, and the Skate version did not disappoint. I like the more robust shoe, and it required no break-in to be comfortable. The laces are a bit short and I cannot use the upper lace hole, which is fine because I wear the casually. I was worried the tongue elastic might be uncomfortable, but it isn't in the least, and I like how it keeps everything in place. The Skate Sk8 Hi worked so well for me I ordered a second pair in a different color!
Love the comfort of this shoe for work but I can also wear them out. Love the old school aesthetic. #sweepstakes
I've been wearing Vans since middle school,im 58 now and still wear Vans in every moment, nothing beats a pair of Vans
So stoked that vans made these! The removable insoles are amazing. Having the option to put my orthopedic insoles rules!
I love the originals, but these have changes that are definitely for the better. The straps on the tongue stop it from rolling over, and the extra padding on the insole makes it so I can wear them all day. And they look good to boot.
I've worn vans all my life but these missed the mark. I recently started using an electric skateboard and got these for the ankle support for a linger trip but they are so uncomfortable. There is an extra pice of canvas that runs on the outer foot area that puts pressure on your foot. My toes are numb in 10 minutes. I thought it was the elastic that holds the tongue so a cut that to relieve the pressure so I won't be able to return them. Tried to break them in more but it was useless. This is extremely disappointing.
Shame on you vans. You went and tried to fix something that wasn't broken. The suede on these new vans is total garbage. The older versions of the pro had nice thick soft suede this stuff is like sand paper and extremely thin, I'm sorry but you guys ruined this shoe. What's up with these tongue straps? It makes the shoe really hard to get on when you have a big foot like me. I'm sorry but these are awful. I will never buy these again…Also the checkerboard tag makes them look like knock offs/bootlegs. You made these extremely cheap looking.. all the people who are praising these have got to be newbies, there's no way that old school heads are loving these…. shame on you vans, shame shame shame!
