I got this VECYS nugget ice maker for my kitchen counter because I love that soft chewable ice like you get at some restaurants and gas stations. It was really easy to set up. I just filled the water container and plugged it in and it started making ice not long after that. The ice comes out in small nugget pieces that are great for drinks and also just to snack on if you like chewing ice like I do. It is not too loud which I like because it sits on the counter near our living room. It has a self cleaning setting which makes it easy to keep clean. So far it has worked great and we use it every day for drinks and iced coffee at home with the family and friends who come over.

After letting it sit for a day and rinsing the machine it makes ice fast. Put water in it and ice comes out in a few hours. Machine weights about 24 pounds and looks good on a counter.

This is the perfect tabletop ice maker for those that enjoy crushed ice. The water storage tank is fairly large and holds up to 5 L. The reservoir that collects the ice once made is not very big, unfortunately, but that doesn't change the functionality or taste of the crushed ice so that is a plus and since it continuallyales ice it isn't toouch of an issue. It is fairly heavy and somewhat durable although right out of the box I noticed the door on the front doesn't close all the way so the hubby will have to address that issue. I love that it has a self cleaning mode and the directions it comes with are simple and easy to read. Another plus is a cute blue light you can turn on in the ice storage area.

This ice maker arrived very well packaged. The shipping box was sturdy and the unit was protected with thick styrofoam and protective film. Nothing was damaged and it looked nice right out of the box. It's also aesthetically pleasing on the counter. The power cord is about 6½ feet long, which gives you flexibility on where to place it. It includes a small scoop that stores inside the pull-out ice drawer. One design issue I noticed right away: the drawer doesn't fully close when it's empty. There's a visible gap unless the basket is full of ice. Once filled, the weight of the ice helps it stay closed. Before first use I cleaned the machine and drained it as recommended. I started my first cycle at 12:18 PM, saw the first ice at 12:23 PM, and the basket was completely full at 1:57 PM. So it takes about 1 hour 40 minutes to produce a full basket. The ice pieces are small pellet-like cylinders, but they come out fairly solid. I was hoping for softer “restaurant style” chewable nugget ice, but this is firmer. It works well in drinks and cools them quickly, but it's harder to crunch unless it melts slightly first. Another important thing to know: the machine does NOT keep the ice frozen after it's made. You really need to use it within about an hour or move it to a freezer, otherwise it melts inside the machine. Maintenance is also something to consider. The instructions recommend changing the water every 24 hours and cleaning weekly. There's also leftover water in the upper reservoir that cannot be drained normally. Even about an inch of water isn't enough to run another ice or cleaning cycle, so it has to be manually removed (scooped or dried out). If you use filtered water like I do with a Brita pitcher, that can feel a bit wasteful. For reference, a full basket of ice filled: one 32 oz Gatorade bottle one 6½ inch tall cup plus almost another cup So it produces a decent amount, but because of the production speed, it's best suited for 1–2 people rather than a large group. But if you already have an ice maker or want very soft chewable nugget ice, this may not meet your expectations. Who this is for: People who don't have a built-in ice maker and want convenient ice for drinks for 1–2 people. Who this may NOT be for: Anyone specifically looking for very soft chewable “Sonic-style” nugget ice or expecting the machine to store and keep ice frozen after it's made.

This nugget ice maker is very loud and takes a long time to make the ice. I don't think it makes the 33 pounds it claims.
