This bag professes to be fire resistant to 2000deg. I was surprised how thin and flexible the shell is. I believe that the rubbery coating is waterproof. The coating reminds me of the dipped colored coatings on the palms of the white work glove multipacks in the big box stores. The rubber is almost sticky. I noticed that lint and pet hairs wanted to adhere to it. The zippers seem to be very light duty. And the option of locking the zippers would only deter a casual snoop and not a determined intruder. Normally, though, this kind of bag will not see a lot of energetic zipping. All in all, it's a nicely crafted bag with lots of organizing options inside. It certainly has its purpose for storing and protecting important documents together, maybe even for a bug out bag, or so

I gave it a test, the thread used that was sticking out lit up quickly and part of the zipper cloth started melting also but I didn't want to badly damage it because it is a good little document bag to be honest. It has a strap to carry it on your luggage. The lock is okay. The durability is a bit questionable, although the sides are actually fireproof as it is coated with something shiny. I slightly used a candle flame and it made me worry about the zipper, strap, and the lock. The zipper handle only turned black, I guess the fire wasn't strong enough as I didn't hold it there longer. I ran water on the zipper area, the water went inside the bag.
