Velveeta isn’t just cheese—it’s a lifestyle choice. It melts with the confidence of someone who knows they’ll never clump, stretch weirdly, or judge you for eating it at 2 a.m. Is it fancy? No. Is it “real cheese” according to philosophers and dairy purists? Also no. But does it turn any sad bowl of pasta or tortilla chip into a warm, gooey hug? Absolutely. Velveeta laughs in the face of aging, refrigeration rules, and lactose-related fear. It has the shelf life of a Twinkie and the soul of comfort food. If you want elegance, buy brie. If you want reliability, emotional support, and elite meltability, Velveeta has your back.
So what’s not to love about an a-typical melting cheese? You don’t have to be a chef or even a good cook to notice that this “cheese” melts perfectly and can provide you with many menu items that kids of all ages and sizes will love to eat. It even solves many veggie problems by turning those veggies into something yummy.
I wish ppl would learn the proper way to review items. Product reviews should focus on the item itself, rather than delivery/pickup, missing, or substitution item issues. Appropriate channels exist for addressing order fulfillment problems; this section is solely for evaluating product quality. About item: my family likes it.
I’ve been buying Velveeta Original Pasteurized Recipe Cheese Product, 16 oz Block for years, and it never disappoints. The texture is incredibly smooth and creamy, which makes it perfect for melting. Whether I’m making queso dip, mac and cheese, or cheesy casseroles, it melts evenly without getting clumpy or greasy. The flavor is mild and creamy—great for picky eaters or when you want a rich cheese base without it overpowering the dish. It’s especially good for quick stovetop mac and cheese on busy nights. I also appreciate the long shelf life compared to regular cheese, so I can keep a block on hand for last-minute meals. The 16 oz size is just right for family recipes. If you’re looking for that classic, ultra-smooth melt and dependable results every time, Velveeta is hard to beat. Definitely a pantry staple in my house!
Velvet cheese is just a wonderful choice, especially for preparing appetizers. It has a creamy velvety taste and texture when melted. Slice it and place it on a hamburger for a special treat. We use it in making a queso type dip. Yum! Great with tortilla chips.
Velveeta cheese is always melted better than most standard American cheese and when making an omelette as I like to do for a light breakfast or a light supper it spreads well when heated and it taste great. It works well with bagels. It works well with chili and our Frito chips or other things that are spreadable once it melts I really enjoy putting it into a quiche and it helps set the food up to carry well into presenting for a table setting at dinner.
Block Velveeta cheese is a casserole must. For chicken and spaghetti you use half of a 16:ounce block. The recipe is as follows: I whole chicken deboned with the chicken cut into cubes, I buy the chilled rotisserie chicken and debone it myself to save time and money. I 16 ounce package of spaghetti noodles cooked and drained. I can dream of mushroom soup I can cream of chicken soup I can Rotel, I use "hot" hot for the spicy kick but you can use mild if you prefer 1/2 block (8 ounces total) Velveeta cheese cut into cubes. Milk to thin it out some, however much you need. I use a couple good spasges to a few. Mix all ingredients together well and simmer on low, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes or so. Then it's ready to serve with some salad and bread. This makes enough for a family with growing boys plus leftovers. It also freezes well. All together it's a good meal you can have on the table in 45 minutes or less. Start to finish with normal clean as you go cooking. Costs about 13 dollars to purchase all ingredients and gives you some extra cheese leftover for another meal. . In my house we always just call this meal "chicken and spaghetti", Maybe this gives you something different to do with the Velveeta that your family would like
Got this because I couldn't find the store brand and needed it for a recipe. it worked fine but really wasn't worth it. It has all of the creamy goodness that we've come to expect from Velveeta, but the cost is double the amount of the store brand and the quality is the same. If I can't find the store brand next time, I'll just make a different dish.
Be careful you don't fall for what I fell for as the picture and description of this makes it look like it's an actual normal size box of Velveeta, but when you get it, it's a dinky little children's size box, yes, this cheese may be good, but it is outrageously priced, definitely not worth the high price
this is good food the best but the price for box should be under $3 sent it small tiny box we had to pay above $5 for it though it was big like it should on app but when got it is small and tiny but it good tastes and yummy just like macaroni and cheese 🧀 yep
