At first i was hesitant of buying these thinking it wont be as described. I was wrong, I have a 2014 mtb with a 27.5 wheels and its holding it real well. For this price, it's just right. If you're looking for the high end just go for scorpion bike stands which costs around $60- 80.
a nice little stand that lifts the rear wheel off the ground and allows you to rotate the cranks for repairs or tuning. If unfolded all the way out 700c and 27'' wheels touch the floor so you have to slightly move the sides closer together, still plenty of support. I think it said it wouldn't work with 29er wheels but it's great for anything else.
I am awaiting delivery-to-store to pick up my fourth one. They are so sturdy that I can sit on my bike and pedal it when I am adjusting something, such as a new saddle, pedals, seat post. Of course, I am a lightweight. I added four inches of split black cable bundling tubing, secured by narrow zip ties, around each corner to protect them. Can buy the tubing by the inch at most hardware stores. Looks like it was part of the original design.
I needed a stand for my roadbike (which has no kickstand). I wanted one that held the rear wheel off the ground and left the pedals free so that I could wax my chain and other maintenance that you can't do with a pedal stand. This works great!
This stand works great for tuning up gears but will not work on bikes over 26 inches tall. The plastic pieces that hold the wheel bolts will probably break over time. I would recommend the manufacturer make the bolt holders out of a sturdier material.
This is a decent product for the price, I can use it on my road bikes and my 26" mtn bike, but it just doesn't work on my 29er. I may pick up a couple more because its nice not to have to lean bikes on the wall (or whatever else is in my garage at the time!). These are also nice for doing basic maintenance as it holds you're wheel off the ground. But if you only own 29ers, this isn't for you.
Worth the price for its use.
I was so happy when I discovered this stand on the Walmart website , but after I received it I tried several days to use it. I have a hybrid with 700 c wheels with quick release and it was too complicated to fit it into the stand. When I finally got it in, it served the purpose of being able to service the bike with the back wheel suspended, but it took me many tries to get the bike into the stand and several minutes . I just do not consider that practical on the long run. So, while it is cheap solution for a bike stand, I returned it. I guess , I will have to spend a little bit more to get something more practical.
One of the two tightening knob came broken, I did nt return it as I needed to use it asap. I ordered this product online, it came in a huge box with no form of padding or cushioning inside, this explains why this product came broken. I ended up using super glue on it. Otherwise, this product works as it should.
This is a nice looking stand for the money, to bad it doesn't have any way to bring holders in to fit my 26in Huffy with coaster brake. Wish I would have read all reviews before buying.
