item is not meant to be inflated (which we like!) it is just thick enough to use for hiking without being bulky and it is wider than the standard sleeping pad (purchase for my skinny 11 year old but it can grow with him!)

My husband is the one who needed this, and we had tried for a while to find the right product for not much money since we're both students. The mat is durable, the right color for ROTC and it arrived so fast.

I used this on a 2 night camping trip in the White Mountains and it performed well. I was comfortable enough to get decent sleep and it was definitely better than sleeping on the hard ground. My only complaint is that it is not very durable but it did hold up. There was a couple bucks where the foam had broken but it still held up okay. The pad is extremely soft and has a decent thickness, about an inch or so of foam. Not bad considering the cost.
