We currently live in a climate where it rains often, and in Oct/Nov all day, every day. The Verilux lamp lights our table where we each sit on one side of it and turn it on for shots of sunlight. It helps maintain our USA-western-high-plains-sunlight-blessed-for-60-years bodies and spirits.

I have really struggled with SAD for years so I boughtthis for myself for Christmas this year. I LOVE IT. It's bright, but not too bright. It's not even as bright as I expected it to be. I switch it on at my desk while I start my work day and find that I don't want to turn it off after an hour because I enjoy having it on. I do feel that my mood is lifted. Normally, by mid-winter my depression is severe, but not this year! Of course, I am doing other things to mitigate my depression, but the light is helping. It is 100% worth the cost. As for the design, it is stable sitting on my desk, has two light settings, and comes with an additional light sheild to lower the intensity of the light if you like (which I don't recomend). I have not, as yet, tried to travel with it; but it is lightweight and simply plus into an electrical outlet. It is flat, so it would be easy to transport in a laptop bag, backpack, or suitcase.

I've been using the lamp since I received it and it is making a difference in my mornings.

Works just as advertised. Takes no time to set up.

I absolutely love this light! I use it everyday to put my makeup on. It makes a world of difference in my energy level and my attitude. We recently moved from Colorado to the east coast, talk about a huge change in sunlight exposure. This light has saved me! No winter blues for this girl!

I purchased this as a Christmas present and didn't order it until just a couple of weeks before Christmas. It was shipped very quickly and arrived in time so that I got to give it on Christmas day. The recipient has been enjoying it so far! I'm thinking of getting one for myself!

As soon as I saw the package from Verilux, I sighed in relief. I have seasonal affective disorder, as in DISORDER, and I can't take meds. My light has kept up off the floor for years. My old one finally died. I am sooooo grateful for this new one. It might be placebo effect, but I swear I can already feel it working. Thank you. And, thank you that the light isn't expensive.

Small enough to not get in the way in a small apartment but powerful enough to instantly improve my mood. I've accidentally moved into a north facing apartment with low natural light and this lamp is honestly a saving grace- an absolute essential until my lease runs out! If you're on the fence I promise you won't regret buying this light.

This may be how all of them are. It says to replaced the bulb and maybe lens, yearly. I'm am going to use it on rainy days when I can't go outside, so I hope it works good for a long time.
