Very Best Of One Step Beyond DVD

Great quality, Great stories

This is one of my all time favorite classic tv shows. Based on true stories of the unexplained. Quality is as good as can be expected from a tv show from this era. very watchable. DVD's all play fine. Still can't figure out how they manage 50 episodes on just 4 single sided DVD's! Hmmmm, Another tale of the unexplained? Oooooeeeeeeeeooooo! Anyway, It's one of the best values around, Highly recommended!

I only remember a couple of these episodes, so it was the same as watching it for the first time. Excellent video and sound. Just as spooky as ever. I'm very happy I purchased this.

I loved this compilation. It was really nice to see all the episodes of this cool old series. The quality of the source material varied, but most was good, very good or excellent. Have a decent DVD player, so had no problems with the dual layer formatting and compression. All in all, a fun show, with A LOT of episodes for very little cost. Way worth it.

The DVD is as good as could be expected since 1950's TV was not that good anyway. The stories on that show are just great. It was scary 50 years ago and is still scary. You are not going to beat Walmarts price, under $5 for 50 episodes. I strongly recommend it. If you have never seen the show, be sure and get it.

If you are looking to buy a One Step Beyond set, I would recommend this one. The price can't be beat for this many episodes (trust me, I've looked), plus, the picture quality is not going to be crystal clear a la Twilight Zone b/c the original prints for this show have been lost. Thus, there's no way to remaster the episodes, meaning that those more expensive sets are not going to be of any better quality than this one. However, it seems that Mill Creek has done an admirable job of choosing episodes that are both good content wise and have decent screen quality, those some episodes look better than others. I've read complaints in other places that all the discs don't play, but mine all work fine. If you're not familiar with this show, it debuted 9 mos before Twilight Zone and was in the same vein and format. However, the show claimed to base it's stories on real events. Indeed, it seems that some (such as the S.F. earthquake episode) do seem to have at least a grain of truth in them and the themes are generally more realistic than Twilight Zone. Don't expect a lot of alien and futuristic stuff. Remember, these are supposed to be REAL stories with a HINT of the supernatural, not the other way around. Think TZ dialed down a notch. Definitely worth watching, esp, if you remember that you're not watching TZ (don't try to compare them at every turn) and be patient with the film quality. Highly recommeded, esp. at this price.

Shipping and value were topnotch, but when DVD collection arrived, I could not play all of the episodes that came on the discs. Also, at least one disc had fingerprints all over it when opened up even though item was factory sealed and wrapped. Took back for refund and will try ordering again soon.

Disk 1 and 2 wouldn't play on my DVD player or computer - comes up "disk no installed". Disk 3 played with no problems. Disk 4 wouldn't play on my DVD player but did work on my computer. All in all, very disappointed.
