About 5 years ago my dog started having hip problems. I noticed for the first few weeks my dog ate them with no problem but then she wouldn't eat them for some reason. So, I had to mash them up in her food. In about the 5 days she began to move around more and I noticed that she was happier and more playful. If I take her off of it, within a week or week and a half she stiffens up and inflammation returns to her hips. I am just glad that she likes these soft chews better then the regular pills. So, if you want to reduce the inflammation and make your dog more active again then I would try this product. I received this product from the Spark Reviewer program.
I have a female jack russel and she loved the Vets best joint health chews. I noticed almost an immediate difference in her, she seemed so much more perky! She is 8 years old, and has been getting to where she doesn't get around as much as she used to, but these chews seemed to have really helped.
Thank you for this opportunity to review this item. It's a great treat for an older dog. It will help with their joints, and makes it easier to move. It might help an older dog to not have any broken bones. Thank you again for this opportunity to review this product.
Our dog is getting up there in years, and she shows it. Sadie moves slower, sleeps a lot, not feeling well, and we're concerned. Several months ago, we gave her an unnamed doggy supplement, but it was hard for her to chew and she didn't like it. But when we gave her Vet's Best Hip and Joint Soft Chews, she loved them. Not only does she like the taste, but the ease of chewing them. We've noticed a lighter spring to her step, and she's only been using them a week!
received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest and unbiased review. Thank you we have a 15 year old small breed dog (breed name gets flagged for 2 first names in it) – she has had knee surgery 2 years ago – and has arthritis. We've been told by our vet to use joint supplements before – like these. We've bought similar products over the shelf – and even paid high prices for vet prescribed supplements. Don't know if the ingredients are exactly the same – but these VET'S BEST Supplements look, feel, and smell exactly like the prescription ones. Assists your pets in maintaining normal healthy cartilage, connective tissue, bone health, and joint mobility. Comes in a chewable tablet that is optimized for absorption and digestion about the size of a nickel and about as thick as 4 of them stacked on each other. The National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) has given it their Seal of Approval. Our dog loves them and they help to improve her mobility – which makes her life easier – and ours too! Your dog is worth it for all the joy they bring you!
We have two blue heelers and the 18 year old is almost deaf and besot with arthritis. we began giving these to her about a month ago and are not sure if they are effective or not. She still moves slowly and cannot climb the deck steps. So we just have faith that they are easing her pain somewhat. She's been the best dog in the world and we hate to see her go out like this.1
I've only had these for 2 days and have given them to my King for these days. He really enjoys them and always wants more but the dosage goes by weight and he can have 2 a day. I don't know if the dogs could get sick if given more. It's not enough time to tell if they work on helping ease the hips & joints but I hope so cause my King is going in 11 and he could use some joint related relief.
These tablets are made from all natural ingredients which are good for joints. I take joint supplements myself, and my pills contain some of the active ingredients found in these tablets. My dog is getting older and she needs joint care--she gets a little stiff in the cold weather. I have been giving her these chew tabs for a couple of weeks, and have noticed improvement--she's able to go up stairs without whining. They don't work right away--they take time to take effect, and some dogs don't show improvement for a few weeks. The package gives the recommended dose depending on the size of the dog. The reason I gave 4 stars for the review is my dog doesn't care for the taste. I put peanut butter or a little wet food on the tablet and she grudgingly eats it. She is a small dog, and small dogs tend to be picky. The product itself is amazing and I do recommend it. It never hurts to start joint supplements before dogs get old and start showing signs of discomfort or stiffness.
My little Jack Russell Terrier will be turning 8 this spring and, although she still seems as lively as a puppy, her breed's high activity level combined with her entering "senior dog" status mean I need to be mindful of her joint health. Although she takes most medications readily enough (sometimes with the help of a little peanut butter), she has always preferred soft chewy treats, so the soft chews format of these Vet's Best Advanced Hip & Joint Dog Supplements seemed ideal for her. These supplements contain the glucosamine and chondroitin one typically sees in joint supplement products for both humans and dogs, plus a couple of other things. Each chew is round (about 3/4" diameter x 3/8" thick), has a slightly gritty texture on the outside, and a more-or-less beefy aroma. The suggested dosages by dog weight are printed on the back of the bag: dogs under 25 lbs. (like my JRT) should have just 1/2 treat per day; dogs 25-75 lbs. get 1 chew each day (so the "30 day supply" is for dogs in this size range); large dogs over 75 lbs. may have 2 chews per day. (I see that I should be splitting these treats for my little dog; perhaps I could save the unused 1/2 treat in a small zipper-seal bag until the next day?) My dog accepted her first dose (a whole treat, I know, but the directions do suggest giving twice the maintenance dosage for the first 4 to 6 weeks) quite readily after "doing her business" outside, which is the time she normally gets her regular treats. The treats seem a smidge firmer than her normal treats, but she didn't seem to object to the firmer texture. If your dog is accustomed to receiving multiple treats daily (perhaps as rewards for performing a desired behavior, as is the case with our dog), you will still want to keep other treats on hand, so that your dog won't overdo the joint supplement stuff. Dogs who prefer soft chewy treats should enjoy these Vet's Best Hip & Joint Soft Chews a lot, as well as dogs with dental issues who are unable to crunch a firm tablet (or finicky dogs for whom you've had to conceal medication drops or crushed tablets inside a favorite soft food in the past). Just remember the recommended dosage for your pet, and you should be fine. Recommended!
I was excited to try these since my older dog (only 4) has hip issues. Being familiar with a treat bag they were super excited when I was opening the bag but weren't so happy about the item itself. I gave my smaller dog one and the bigger dog one which went ok but when I went to give the big dog his second, it took him a while to eat it. He kept spitting it out over and over, needless to say he isn't a fan. About 10 hours later both of them theee up. Coincidence? Maybe.
