Very ingenious design where they put the thumb screws so you can remove and replace the batteries with ease also seems to be very weatherproof which I'm happy with and the visibility of The Red Door allows me to check from inside the house to make sure it's operated correctly so far so good I'm extremely happy with the design and Engineering that's going into it.

I chose this one after doing a lot of research on automatic coop doors. I needed one that very sturdy to keep out predators and my neughbor's pitbulls. I also wanted one that could run off a timer or a light meter, which this does. It was really easy to install, once I built a frame in the wall to support it. It's easy to program, easy to access the batteries when they eventually need to be replaced. All in all; couldn't be happier with it.

So worth not going to the coop in bad weather or worrying with it when we get home after dark.

sturdy and easy to install

We've had it on about a month now and have yet to have an issue. It opens when it should and all the birds are in by the time it closes. We free range a large flock so it's nice knowing we don't have to be at home ALL the time at dusk to close the door. It is light activated, so a flashlight will set the door to open when shined on it. I had planned to have a motion light above it, but won't now because of this. We'll see how it fares winter.

Great item. Seems very well made. Sturdy. I really like the direct drive system vs the separate string roller that other automatic doors have. Had to do a little fine tuning on the closing adjustment at dark. Been about a month now, and I would definitely recommend this product.

This automatic chicken door was awesome. At first it worked flawlessly, but when the outside temps reached 20 degrees and below it did not work. Was not an issue due to the birds didn't free range at those temps. The door stopped working properly at about 15 months of use. Now it opens and closes whenever it wants and the display is very hard to read. Overall it was a good product, just wished it lasted longer.

First off, I paid over 100 dollars for this door and can't use it. Bought it because it had pretty decent reviews and I liked the way it looks however, the Timers are Difficult to set. with little to no instruction on how to set them, so I have to manully open this door to let my chickens in and out of it.

Door worked well for a few months then it started acting up. Stopped keeping time properly so I've been constantly changing time on it, gear kept trying to push the door down even though it was all the way closed, etc. Feel like it should last longer than 3-4 months for the price....

I bought it back in September and just got to install it last week. This door worked okay for about a week, then one morning I came out and the door wasn't open. I changed the batteries out thinking maybe the batteries I put in there were low but nope just didn't work. It seems cheaply made, I don't believe all of these 5 star reviews. Would have returned it if it wasn't outside my 30 day purchase window.....
