The expandable sides have wire in it which makes it sturdy when the sides are popped out. I was really pleasantly surprised to see this feature. My cat is pretty shy and hates carriers but he didn't hate this one. The wheels are really smooth and it's easy to assemble. My only complaint is that I wish the carrier was a little longer.

Bought this to use as a carry on during travel for a Miniature Schnauzer (dog). Seems secure and have read that it is airplane compliant and can go through security.

Great cat carrier with solid construction. A bit smaller than expected for my bigger cats. Saves my back! Just be careful when wheeling because it can swing a bit!

The description says “airline approved” but United Airlines has a 9” height limit on in-cabin pet carriers and this one is 11 and 1/4 inches tall. The sides of the carrier are too stiff and sturdy to fold down. The height measurement was made before I bothered to put the wheels on. It is a nice product but it is not a size approved by United Airlines.
