Worked wonderfully well with plenty of torque. I was able to dig 14 holes to plant oleanders without killing myself
I haven't actually put it to official use.
Great Post Hole/Garden Digger
This did a great job! Reasonable price
This electric augur packs a punch! Easy to use in soft soil and pasture, but there can be alot of kickback in harder soils. In hard soils, don't bare down while using this device - it's best to let it work slowly in hard soil conditions. Most users will value this time saving digger. Watch out that the power cord doesn't get caught while digging!
This post hole digger is really good for soil only. If your land has tree roots it will not work. You will have to use a chain saw to cut the roots in the ground and then use a strong manual post hole digger to finish the job. Consider buying atleast 2 to 3 heavy duty manual post hole diggers.
Its pretty flimsy feeling, think I may have stripped something inside it toward the end of my small fencing job. Can't be sure but something sure slipped a little twice inside the unit on my last hole. It could be it is supposed to have a limited amount of slip for safety but my guess is the next time i need to drill a hole it will be trash.
Currently 2 stars. 1. Got auger with different model number advertised. 2. Manual for model number received says 10.9 amps at 110 volts, that is 1200 watt, I ordered 1500 watt. Drive unit says it is 1500 watt and auger does measure 6 inches. 3. Magnets do not attract to manganese. I worked welding manganese for many years and a magnet never attracted to it.
Unit will not run, brand new right from the box, assembled, plugged it in and nothing, Not sure what to do other than trying to return it
20 holes in and it breaks. That's $7.50 a hole. Y'all better have a warranty. Bought this over a year ago. I just got moved into my land and started using it. Out the box, you can tell that cord will be a problem. That. It's if a flaw and a defect and it ripped right out of the input. You can tell they used millimeter sized crimps to hold the wires together and any sort of tug will rip it once you see the other end. Well what do you think an auger is going to do? It's going to rip, roar and tug away.
