these are thick metal and will probably last a while except for some errors in construction. The nuts for clamping the dhoes to the bucket are welded to the outside which puts the tension on the weld when you tighten the clamp. The nut should be welded inside, the weld would then just be to hold the nut in place and not take all the pressure. Probably be bettr to knock off the nut and tap the piece and use a hardened bolt to clamp the shoe using a wrench rather than a hand knob.
Skid protectors work pretty well. The issue is the welds ok at best, and they do not tighten down great, so they slip alot and you will need to adjust every few swipes. Im going to remove the cheap plastic knobs and weld a small steel rod to each bolt for easier tightning.
