Vibrant Life 13' Reflective Retractable Tape Leash, Black, XS-S

I was surprised these are "Walmart" brand. The quality is superb. I bought my first two (we have two dogs) over 10 years ago and they are still functional. We walk our dogs at LEAST 2x a day for a mile each walk. Yes - after 10 years the leashes show some wear- the grey on the handle is missing in a few places and the leash material has lost its reflective property. But they are still going strong after 10 years. I highly recommend this leash for your dog - and it has the Walmart guarantee to boot! You can't go wrong.

I received this Retractable Tape Leash from the Spark Reviewer program to try in my home and write an honest review. The leash is very lightweight and comfortable in my hand. The wrist strap is beneficial for keeping a good hold on the leash. It's compact (x-small size) and fits easily in my pocket or purse. The retractable leash works very will without jerking or snapping back into the handle. The reflective properties are a great idea for safety during nightly potty runs. There is plenty of leash to allow for room to roam but still have the security to bring the dog back from danger. PROS: Compact, Plenty of leash, Smooth recoil action, Lightweight. CONS: I didn't see anything wrong with this product.

Got a size larger than recommended, because our toy poodle keeps breaking the leads for small dogs. He's broken 4 in the last year, so I figured to get one for a larger dog to at least slow him down. Buddy,(that's his name), hates this one, but for only one reason. When he runs to chase squirrels, this one stops him on a dime with no trouble. It extracts out 16 feet, so that's not really a problem. The ribbon seems heavy enough to take the pounding it gets from the dog, but it's not so heavy he has to drag it along. Only time will tell how long this will last, but my first impression is that it's going to last him awhile. This is one lead that seems to be worth the cost, and that's a good thing in my opinion.

This is my second time buying this type of leash. I'm completely floored at the difference between the two. the leash is sturdy. You can tell by the weight in your hand that the leash is much more stable then a cheaper version. the leash is worth the money.

We love the length %26 retractability of the leash %26 the handle is sturdy %26 solid--which is part of the problem. Today the leash retracted quite a bit %26 it's now stuck. The handle is glued together, so I can't take it apart to see what the problem might be. One expects problems like this with this type of product as far as it getting stuck, but there should be a way for us to easily try to repair it.

It works for a couple months and then it won’t retract anymore. I have now had 3 and it happens to each one. I do like the size of the product, the length, and the price but the retraction is why I purchase this item and that definitely needs more work

I would not recommend this for puppies, but it may work for already trained dogs. I have a large-breed puppy. I first bought a smaller leash when he was younger, and he chewed through it within two weeks. I then bought this leash, thinking it would be more durable—even though he’s still young—but I was wrong. He chewed through this one as well. If you’re still leash training, I would not recommend a retractable leash. That said, the leash itself is nice and long and works well for the right dog.

I bought this extended leash a few weeks to a month ago for my 11 week old puppy, and it's already broken. The leash part close to the hook broke completely off while my pup was running around. The durability of this leash does not last long at all for an active dog who loves to run around and play tug of war with the leash. I absolutely would not recommend this leash for anyone who has a very active dog who loves to chew on things.

Not durable at all! I’ve had this leash for about 3 weeks and it is already broke!

This is the second one I bought. DO BOT buy this product. You can find a way better brand for what they are charging. If it goes in your dogs mouth for whatever reason it will tear. I just got a burn on my thumb from the retractable part when he took off after a squirrel. My puppy is a large breed at 5 months and 50lbs. Do not get this leash for a big breed dog!! I will not waste anymore money buying this again
