Costs less than wild bird seed. Quails, doves, pigeons, sparrows, etc. love it.
I like that my chickens eat it very well, they like it a lot, it is for all types of chickens, they are different grains, and protein, my chickens eat it all! I give them once a day, and I always make sure I have it at home, to have well-fed chickens, very good product...
Great product… the flock enjoys it.
Not powder like the last brand I tried.
I simply add some Black Oil Sunflower seeds which turns this Scratch into a fabulous feed for all the many, many types of wild birds that I care for. Winter here on the Oregon coast does not bring snow, fortunately; however, it is very cold, wet and often stormy. Many birds flock here every year as they know they can depend on me for a food source. SO very thankful to Walmart for making this possible!!!
This economy is making it near impossible to get what we need. I prefer to support our local feed stores and always have up until now. This is the best alternative if you are trying to make ends meet. I just purchased a bag for $12.48 during the monyh if May 2023. Let's see if we can keep it that way. It's a good quality grain and you get a decent amount, considerably cheaper than what I pay at our feed store. I use this, the same brand of cracked corn, and then also mix in lay crumble and ferment everything to double the amount and make it more beneficial to our ducks and chickens. No complaints.
Great price for so much food for our bird friends. Add it to sunflower seed and it's 1/3 the cost of buying smaller sacks of the same mix. We mixed the two in a plastic container and won't need to shop but a couple of times per year for bird food.
I used this to feed wild quail and ducks in our yard so I can't vouch for what chickens would think of it. I personally would prefer it contained more milo and whatever the other grains are that it contains, and less corn since the corn is always left over at the bottom of the bowl. (Sparrows and doves end up eating the corn.) But it seems acceptably fresh. No noticable chaff or mold. The corn is cracked down to reasonably-sized pieces, and the ducks and quail keep coming back, so they must find it appealing.
I still have two packages of chicken feed, why haven’t they been sent yet?
I have been buying this scratch for my backyard chickens but i am very disappointed with this particular order. The grains were wet, the delivery driver drop them off on the street on a raining day instead of dropping them off at the front of my house or by my door. Not to mention, this was dropped off outside of the fence of a different house on the street.
