I’ve owned several humidifiers, and this is the best one I’ve ever had. It’s quiet- it sounds like trickling water, doesn’t spill water, is easy to clean, and does last for 36 hours even on medium high humidity. It functions with an easy to turn dial, and is small enough to fit almost anywhere. You could place it ontop of your night stand without worrying that it will leak water everywhere. I have mine on the floor in a corner of my bedroom, and it works great. You can direct the steam easily by turning the spout on top to the right or left. It’s easy to fill and refill. It has a nice design that is functional and just makes sense. I love this!
Liked that humidifier has button to adjust the amount of mist you want in the room, and it puts out a cool mist. The machine doesn't take up a lot of space. Cleaning and disinfecting machine is very easy. Holds up to one gallon of water with no mess.
This product worked great the first couple of weeks I had it. Seeing all of the negative reviews. I wanted to at least use the product for a couple months before giving my review. Although I have not experienced the severe leaking that the other negative reviews experienced. I have experienced issues cleaning this product. I don’t know who designed this product with all of these nooks and crannies, but it collects black spots within the product in less than a day. I have tried soaking the different parts, but the very top at the spout. There is a crevice there that you can’t get to that dark spores are collecting in, which means I’m not even able to use the product anymore and have to buy a replacement because I can’t be breathing that in with my asthma. Doesn’t matter if you use filtered water or just out the tap, you’re gonna get the same results.
Pros: it actually works. Humidifiers in general are just badly designed machines and I've bought several over the years that just didn't work at all. And it has a good mist. Cons: You HAVE to use distilled water in it. I have had at least a half dozen of this same type of humidiefer and I've never used distilled water, only tap water. But for some reason this one specifically created a white dust all over everything in my room. It's literally going to take me hours to clean my room. Probably an 8 hour day. Also, the opening is very small and you can't scrub it out so if you forget to clean it every week and it gets nasty, there's no way to scrub it out. The tank is removable from the base which seems like it would be a pro but it's a con because the base collects water too and needs to be rinsed every day so you just end up with 2 pieces to clean.
Steam was good and I would recommend as long as you don't have pets. I wish the company had said in the description that if you have pets the Vicks is toxic to them. I mainly bought this one to use with the Vicks but I'll just use it without. But there were other ones that were less expensive that didn't have the Vicks that I probably would have purchased if I'd known that. I'm just surprised they don't have to put that as a disclaimer somewhere. I didn't know it until it dawned on me and I googled it. Thank God I did. Kind of seems a little unethical for them not to put it in there directions even after you buy it.
I don’t know a whole lot about humidifiers, but I figured this being a trusted brand I could rely on this one. Turns out that’s not so true. It has bubbled and dripped from the first time I plugged it in. Plus, no matter if I have the mist on low or on high, it comes out at one speed. I also have the flu and I thought I would use a humidifier while I was sick with the Vicks vapor tab and there was quite literally no difference. Not only that but the tabs are extremely expensive. I just wouldn’t buy this one again because for $40 it should’ve been a much better tool.
GARBAGE. Purchased 2 at the same time for my sick kids. Plugged first one in and it would not work! No sound, no mist, nothing. Plugged second one in and it worked for ONE HOUR, suddenly stopped and will not work now. Tried troubleshooting both and nothing worked. Don’t waste your money or time dealing with literal trash.
I don’t know why I chose to not believe all the reviews saying it leaks. It definitely leaks. I turned it on for 10 minutes and walked away and half of it had emptied onto the wood table I set it on. Even if it didn’t leak, it makes the most annoying dripping sound. It’s not even a consistent white noise like something running, it is an intolerable dripping noise. If you frequently have to pee at night like me, don’t even bother. Also, it has a port to stick the Vicks vapor things in. It came with tape over that part. I pulled the tape off to make sure it didn’t have anything inside of it, and the port just wouldn’t stay closed. Had to put the tape back on it. I let it run for 10 minutes and the humidity in the room actually decreased 2%. It couldn’t even maintain the current humidity in the room. I’ll be returning this item.
Not only does it make a loud gurgling noise when the water drips down into the reservoir, it left a film of white powder in my entire house! I was wondering why I was coughing, and this was the culprit! Returned 2 of them.
Since I bought this item it’s been nothing but issues. It was the most aesthetically pleasing option on Walmart so I got it even though the reviews were bad. I should have known better! it makes a horrible squealing sound that makes it unusable. Sometimes I could get the sound to stop by angling it a certain way. After just six months of use it’s beyond unbearable with how often it makes the terrible noise. I can’t make the sound go away no matter how much I move it around. And I’m not kidding — it’s an awful loud, squealing sound like it’s about to explode. I can’t believe they sell such a useless piece of junk. and I’m even more upset with myself that I actually bought this thing.
