Vicks is a STRONG name in our house, as it was in mine growing up ! Vicks has not let ME down with this thermometer. It is cute, compact, accurate, and affordable. I like the color-coded display for the temperature's status. Thank you, Vicks, for including the battery. I am very pleased in choosing this thermometer. *Note: although I WILL AGREE with others' reviews that the signal alarm CAN BARELY be heard, I can overlook that. It's not that it doesn't sound, because IT DOES ! -- if you listen more closely. .... therefore, Vicks: take notice and make the improvement, to keep your GREAT name and status in history.
This is seriously the only accurate oral thermometer I have ever purchased. You can use cheap or offbrand ones and get some crazy low reading.. This is so accurate and the only time or reason I have ever had to re-purchase is because it has been lost or stolen
Easy to use and more effective than a body thermometer in my opinion. I gave it low stars for quality Directions say it must be used with the probe covers however NONE come in the box. They aren’t super cheap to buy less than two dollars, but when you have to get them separate it’s super frustrating especially when you or your kid’s are sick and you are just trying to take their template. Definitely should have a few come in the box to start especially when they are so cheap for the company. But the covers in addition to the thermometer if you choose to purchase
This is my second Vicks Speed-Read. Neither this or my previous one have ever beeped. My brother has a Vicks Speed-Read and his has never beeped either. I have tried installing new batteries on my already brand new thermometers and there is still no beeping sound. Other reviewers here, who have a working beep, have stated that the beep is almost impossible to hear and is not audible at all if anyone is talking or if there is the slightest noise in the room. The Vicks research %26 development team definitely needs to work on the beeping mechanism defect.
This is the most useless thermometer I've ever used. If there is a fever, this thermometer doesn't display the actual temperature. It just shows red and says "hi". Yeah, I already know that part. I can feel the fever, that's why I'm trying to temp it. But what is the degree?? It's medically important to know the degree of the fever!
If I could give zero stars, I would. This product keeps showing low battery even though we already tried changing to a new battery. We tried to return it, and because we already recycled the packaging, they will not accept it. DO NOT BUY. Product does not work properly. It’s a waste of money.
This was about the 3rd one I ordered like this. The come low battery and no battery included. The first shipment I got a refund. The last two I took the hit because I should not have ordered again from Walmart. I wasted my money.
- The large, backlit numbers are easy to read. - The timer beep is a big disappointment - it's nearly inaudible, extremely muffled, and frustrating to hear (and my hearing is very good). - The temperature reading is consistently higher compared to a mercury thermometer and the thermometer at my physician's office. I would return if I could!
This thermometer is not accurate. It reads too high and wrong. It reads that you have a fever when you do not.
This product didn’t work thankfully. When I inspected it further it had been used and was filthy. Obviously I was too sick to care at that moment. I took this product back as soon as possible. This does need to be investigated further.
